Installation and connection
a) Installation
Please follow the chapter "Safety Instructions".
Important!
The ceiling-mounted motion detector may not be connected to the mains
voltage. The product is only suitable for an operating voltage of 12 V/DC.
The relay is also not suitable for connection to the mains voltage. Only a
maximum voltage of 24 V/DC and a maximum current of 100 mA must be
connected.
• The ceiling-mounted motion detector must only be connected in a de-energised state.
• Make sure you fix the ceiling-mounted motion detector to a solid base, e.g. masonry.
Use screws and, if necessary, screw anchors that are suitable for the surface.
• The ceiling-mounted motion detector must be installed such that it is out of the
reach of children.
• There is not yet a hole in the bottom of the housing for cable lead-through. Remove
the circuit board from the housing after you removed the screw (7).
Drill a suitable hole at the position of the imprint (9) (the diameter is dependent on
the connection cable used).
• Guide the connection cable through the hole and mark the mounting location
through the mounting holes (1) on the room ceiling. Drill the corresponding holes for
the dowels depending on the construction of the surface.
Caution!
Pay attention when drilling and tightening the screws that no cables or pipes
are damaged!
• Tighten the bottom of the housing using two suitable screws. Replace the circuit
board and secure it with the screw (7). Make sure that the connection cable is not
pinched/damaged or damaged by sharp edges.
b) Connection
Screw terminals "12 V +/-"
Connect these two screw terminals with the voltage/power supply, e.g. of a suitable
alarm system. Pay attention to the correct polarity.
Screw terminals "TAMPER"
This is a potential-free tamper contact. The contact is disconnected when the housing
is opened so that a connected alarm system can trigger an alarm.
The maximum contact rating is 12 V/DC, max. 50 mA.
Screw terminals "ALARM"
This is a potential-free relay contact. Using the jumper "O/P SELEC." (5), the function
can be switched between operation as NC contact (opener) and NO contact (closer).
The relay contact is activated when the ceiling-mounted motion detector detects a
heat change in the detection range.
The maximum contact rating is 24 V/DC, max. 100 mA.
c) Setting the jumpers
Jumper "LED ON/OFF" (2)
Position "ON"
The LED is illuminated when movement was detected in the de-
tection range or when the housing was opened and the tamper
contact triggered.
Position "OFF"
The LED is illuminated continuously. This can be used when the
switching process (when a heat change is detected in the de-
tection range) of the ceiling-mounted motion detector should
not be visible in the dark.
Jumper "PULSE" (3)
Position "1"
The ceiling-mounted motion detector is activated immediately
in the event of a heat change in the detection range.
Position "2"
The ceiling-mounted motion detector is only activated if a heat
change is detected twice within 10 seconds inside the detec-
tion range. This setting can be used, for example, when an er-
roneous alarm is triggered due to the present environmental
conditions.
Jumper "O/P SELEC." (5)
Position "N.C."
The screw terminals "ALARM" function as NC contact (ope-
ner). The contact is opened, when the ceiling-mounted motion
detector detects a heat change in the detection range.
Position "N.O."
The screw terminals "ALARM" function as NO contact (closer).
The contact is closed, when the ceiling-mounted motion detec-
tor detects a heat change in the detection range.
d) Start-up
• When you have made all cable connections and settings, replace the housing cover
so that it clicks into place.
In doing so, observe the correct position
of the housing cover. A small nose in the
housing cover must point towards the cor-
responding opening in the bottom of the
housing, see arrows in the right figure.
• Switch on the voltage/power supply.
It will take about 2 minutes until the PIR sensor has adjusted to the ambient tempe-
rature of the detection range.
During this time, the red LED (4) flashes, if it is switched on ("ON") at the
jumper "LED ON/OFF" (2).
After 2 minutes, the ceiling-mounted motion detector is ready for operation and
switches the relay when it detects heat changes in the detection range.
Maintenance and cleaning
The product is maintenance-free. Repair or maintenance work must be carried out
by a specialist.
You can use a clean, dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not press too hard on the lens of
the PIR sensor.
Do not use aggressive, chemical or scouring cleaning agents, as this may lead to dis-
colouration or changes in the material on the surface.
Disposal
The product must not be disposed of in the household waste.
Dispose of the product at the end of its serviceable life in accordance with
the current statutory requirements; e.g. return it to any suitable collection
point.
