Battery and Charger: Warnings

IMPORTANT NOTES:
Lithium batteries such as lithium polymer (LiPo) and lithium ion (Li-lon) batteries are much
more volatile than alkaline, NiCd and NiMH batteries, which are also used in RC.
Follow all instructions and warnings carefully to avoid damage to property and/or injury, as
misuse of lithium batteries may result in fire.
By handling, recharging or using the supplied lithium batteries, you are taking all risks asso-
ciated with lithium batteries. If you do not agree to these terms, please return your product in
a new, unused condition immediately to the place of purchase.
You must read the following safety and warnings before charging/using the battery:
• Keep the lithium battery away from flammable materials in a safe area.
• Never charge the lithium battery unattended. When charging the battery pack, you should
always remain in visual contact to monitor charging and respond immediately to possible
problems.
• After charging/discharging the battery, allow it to cool to room temperature before rechar-
ging. Also, it is NOT necessary or recommended to fully discharge the battery before re-
charging (lithium batteries do not have any memory and it is safer to charge partially di-
scharged batteries when a suitable charger and appropriate settings are used.)
• To charge the battery, use only the charger that is included in the delivery or a compatible
lithium battery charger. Otherwise there is a risk of fire, which can lead to property damage
and/or injury. Do not use a NiCd oder NiMH charger to charge a lithium battery.
• If the battery starts to bloat at any time during charging or discharging, stop immediately.
Disconnect the battery quickly and safely, and place it in a safe, open area, away from com-
bustible materials. Charging or discharging a battery that has started to swell may cause a
fire. A battery that is already a little inflated may not be used.
