Connections
The power cable is connected to the socket (
20 ) on the rear side of the unit. The mains plug must be
connected only with a properly installed socket outlet with
earthing contact!
The microphone (fi g. 7, page 26) is connected to the inlet
jack (
, fi g. 3) and the plug fi xed by clockwise rotation of
the coupling ring. The foot controller (fi g. 8, page 28) is
connected to the corresponding jack (
side of the unit and locked. The laryngoscope and/or the
light guide cable is inserted into the respective connection
(
, fi g. 3). According to IEC 601-1/EN 60601-1, medical
devices which undergo the risk of external voltage may not
be connected to the multi-function connection (
the rear side of the unit.
When no plastic light connections are used, light guides may
be connected to the two light outputs only when there is no
common electrical connection between the patient's side and
the connection side.
Never look directly into the light. Always use a
light guide cable !

Unit start-up
Switch on the unit using the mains ON/OFF switch
(
, fi g. 3).
After switch-on, the unit automatically performs a segment
test. In the digital frequency display (
seconds the sequence of digits "8 8 8" will appear.

After a few seconds, this test is over and the unit is ready for
operation.
After switching on, the airfl ow is always switched off.

Branchements
Le câble de réseau est relié à l'arrière de l'appareil au
branchement réseau (
, illusr. 4, page 20). Ne brancher la
fi che réseau que dans des prises de contact de protection
dûment installées.
Le microphone (illustr. 7, page 26) est branché à la prise
d'entrée (
, illustr. 3) et visser la fi che en tournant vers la
droite la bague de fi xation. La pédale de réglage (illustr. 8,
page 28) est branchée puis verrouillée à la prise corres-
pondante (
, illustr. 4) à l'arrière de l'appareil. Le laryn-
goscope voire le câble optique est introduit à la prise (
illustr. 3) prévue à cet effet. Le branchement multi-fonctions
(
, illustr. 4) à l'arrière de l'appareil est prévu uniquement
pour le branchement d'appareils médicaux conformément
à CEI 601-1/EN 60601-1 pour lesquels le risque de tension
externe est inexistant.
Si aucun branchement lumière en plastique n'est prévu,
n'utiliser qu'un câble fi bre optique aux deux sorties de lumière
n'ayant pas de raccord galvanisé entre le côté patient et le
côté branchement.
Ne jamais regarder la lumière directement!

Mise en service
Mettre l'appareil en service par l'intermédiaire de
l'inter-rupteur Marche/Arrêt (
Après la mise en service, l'appareil se livre automatique-ment
à un test de segment. A l'affi chage de fréquence (
3) apparaît pendant quelques secondes
la combinaison de chiffres "8 8 8".
Aprés quelques secondes, ce test est terminé et l'appareil est
prêt à fonctionner.
Après la mise en service, le passage de lumière est hors-
service.
