Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Die Geräte sind ausschließlich zum Einsatz im industriellen Bereich bestimmt.
Induktive Sensoren erfassen berührungslos und verschleißfrei metallische Objekte. Die
induktiven Sensoren der Baureihen ...Y1... und ...Y2... sind mit einem eigensicheren
Ausgang nach EN 60547-5-6 (NAMUR) ausgestattet und kompatibel zu allen Standard-
NAMUR-Auswertegeräten. Die Geräte sind für den Betrieb im Ex-Bereich geeignet.
Die Sensoren der Baureihe ...Y1... lassen sich auch in sicherheitsgerichteten Anwen-
dungen einsetzen.
GEFAHR
Die vorliegende Anleitung enthält keine Informationen zum Einsatz in sicherheits-
gerichteten Anwendungen.
Lebensgefahr durch Fehlanwendung!
Bei Einsatz in sicherheitsgerichteten Systemen: Vorschriften des Sicherheitshand-

buchs unbedingt einhalten.
Die Geräte dürfen nur wie in dieser Anleitung beschrieben verwendet werden. Jede an-
dere Verwendung gilt als nicht bestimmungsgemäß. Für daraus resultierende Schäden
übernimmt Turck keine Haftung.
Naheliegende Fehlanwendung
■
Im Erfassungsbereich und in der metallfreien Zone dürfen mit Ausnahme des Targets
während des Betriebs keine metallischen Gegenstände vorhanden sein. Erfassungs-
bereich und metallfreie Zone entnehmen Sie dem produktspezifischen Datenblatt.
■
Die Sensoren der Baureihe ...Y2... sind keine Sicherheitsbauteile und dürfen nicht
zum Personen- und Sachschutz eingesetzt werden.
Allgemeine Sicherheitshinweise
■
Nur fachlich geschultes Personal darf das Gerät montieren, installieren, betreiben,
parametrieren und instand halten.
■
Die Geräte erfüllen ausschließlich die EMV-Anforderungen für den industriellen
Bereich und sind nicht zum Einsatz in Wohngebieten geeignet.
Hinweise zum Ex-Schutz
■
Nationale und internationale Vorschriften für den Explosionsschutz beachten.
■
Bei Einsatz des Gerätes in Ex-Kreisen muss der Anwender über Kenntnisse im Explosi-
onsschutz (EN 60079-14 etc.) verfügen.
■
Das Gerät nur innerhalb der zulässigen Betriebs- und Umgebungsbedingungen
(siehe Datenblatt und Auflagen durch die Ex-Zulassung) einsetzen.

Les appareils sont conçus exclusivement pour une utilisation dans le domaine indus-
triel.
Les détecteurs inductifs permettent de détecter des métaux sans contact physique et
sans usure. Les détecteurs inductifs des séries ...Y1... et ...Y2... sont équipés d'une
sortie à sécurité intrinsèque conformément à la norme EN 60547-5-6 (NAMUR) et sont
compatibles avec tous les analyseurs NAMUR standard. Les appareils sont conçus pour
un fonctionnement en zone Ex.
Les détecteurs de la série ...Y1... peuvent également être utilisés dans des applications
de sécurité.

Intended use
These devices are designed only for use in industrial areas.
Inductive sensors are used for the contactless and wear-free detection of metallic ob-
jects. The ...Y1... and ...Y2... inductive sensors are equipped with an intrinsically safe
output in accordance with EN 60547-5-6 (NAMUR) and are compatible with all standard
NAMUR processing units. The devices are suitable for operation in the Ex area.
The sensors of the ...Y1... series can also be used in safety-related applications.
DANGER
These instructions do not provide any information on use in safety-related applica-
tions.
Danger to life due to misuse!
When using the device in safety-related systems: Observe the instructions of the

safety manual without fail.
The devices must only be used as described in these instructions. Any other use is not
in accordance with the intended use. Turck accepts no liability for any resulting damage.
Obvious misuse
■
No metal objects apart from the target must be present in the detection range and
in the metal-free zone during operation. Refer to the product data sheet for informa-
tion about the detection range and metal-free zone.
■
The sensors of the ...Y2... series are not safety components and must not be used
for the protection of persons and property.
General safety instructions
■
The device must only be mounted, installed, operated, parameterized and main-
tained by trained and qualified personnel.
■
The devices only meet the EMC requirements for industrial areas and are not suitable
for use in residential areas.
Notes on Ex protection
■
Observe national and international regulations for explosion protection.
■
When using the device in Ex circuits, the user must also have an additional knowl-
edge of explosion protection (EN 60079-14 etc.).
■
Only use the device within the permissible operating and ambient conditions (see
data sheet and Ex approval specifications).
