31. Thoroughly remove burrs from the cut edges. Pay attention to rounded cut surfaces, as far as
possible, to improve the adhesion of the corrosion protection to attach, described in work step
34.
32. Remove swarf thoroughly from the car.
33. Check the fitting accuracy of the unpainted fender insets at the car.
34. Paint the parts according to the painting instructions for ABS parts (page 23).
35. Degrease the cut surfaces thoroughly and protect them against corrosion with appropriate
means. Proceed conscientiously!
Note: Aluminum exposed to environmental conditions is not durably protected against
corrosion.
36. Clean the gluing surfaces at the car with a volatile cleaning agent (e.g. silicone remover) and
let exhaust the air for approximately 5 minutes. First check the compatibility of the used
cleaning agent at an invisible area.
37. By means of abrasive paper, thoroughly roughen the gluing surfaces of the Abt fender insets
(gluing surfaces see fig. 9).
