c) Preheat
• The machine parts and your espresso cup can be preheated for the optimal result.
• Proceed as described in section "Getting started" and let your espresso cup be filled with water without coffee.
• Let the cup warm up for a while, discard the water and only then prepare your espresso as described in the next
section.

d) Preparing espresso
• Make sure there is enough water in the water tank (13). Fill the water tank (13) with fresh water up to the MAX
marking.
• Remove the filter holder (6) from the appliance.
• Pour ground espresso coffee into the filter (7). You can use the measuring spoon (8) to measure the exact amount
(a level spoon is the exact amount for a cup).
You can add two measuring spoons of ground coffee to the filter (7) if you wish to prepare 2 cups of
espresso at the same time. Make sure the filter (7) is not overfilled. The maximum level is indicated by the
MAX marking.
• Press the coffee firmly into the filter with the back of the measuring spoon (8).
• If the filter was removed to be filled with coffee, make sure you put in back in the filter holder (6). Make sure you
wipe clean the top edge of the filter holder (6) from coffee.
• Insert the filter holder (6) back into the machine.
• Put your empty espresso cup(s) under the outlets of the filter holder (6).
