ASSIGNING PRESET 1-3

The Sound L is able to assign three memory buttons with „presets". Settings
like volume, selected input and settings in the Speaker Setup [SPS] menu
(sound settings, etc.) can be stored.
Practical tip:
• We recommend you to store the settings you have made in the loud-
speaker menu during the initial set-up of the Sound L, e.g. regarding
loudspeaker levels and distances, sound settings, etc., to one of the three
preset buttons so that your settings are not overwritten by the (neutral)
factory settings if you accidentally press one of the preset buttons.
To store resp. recall (sound)settings, please proceed as follows:
Please apply the desired settings regarding volume, sound, input, etc. and
1
press and hold the memory button 1, 2 or 3 until the corresponding number
[P1], [P2] or [P3] is shown in the display and no longer flashes.
To recall the settings from these presets, please press the corresponding
2
button 1, 2 or 3 briefly. The settings are then called up.
Note:
• To delete the settings from a preset button, please press and hold the
relating button for 10 seconds until the corresponding preset [P1], [P2] or
[P3] is shown in the display rapidly flashing.
Note:
• The Sound L contains a multitude of other great functions.
All settings can be found in the detailed instruction manual.
This can be found under: www.canton.de/manual/soundl

FIRMWARE UPDATES VIA USB STICK
The Sound L offers you the possibility of updating the firmware via an USB
memory stick. With such an update new functions or adaptations to other
devices can be implemented and/or firmware faults (bugs) can be corrected.
During an update, the Sound L is not operable!
WARNING:
• Do not disconnect the Sound L from the power supply during an update!
To perform a firmware update, please proceed as follows:
Open the product page of the Sound L at www.canton.de/en and check for
1
the latest firmware available under the section „Downloads" in the form of a
packed ZIP file. The relating manual for this firmware can also be down-
loaded there.
Find out the firmware version of your Sound L: To do this, enter the main
2
menu by pressing the menu button „M". Now, use the „ / " buttons to
select the item „System Info" [INF] and confirm it with the „OK" button.
Confirm the first menu item „Firmware Info" [FWI] with „OK". If the firm-
ware displayed under „MCU" [MCU] is lower and therefore older than the
version available on the Canton homepage, we recommend you to perform
the firmware update on your Sound L.
Open the ZIP file and unpack all files contained into the root directory of an
3
empty FAT32 formatted USB memory stick (with USB-A connector).
Disconnect your Sound L from the mains for at least 40 seconds, then insert
4
the USB stick with the files into the USB connector on the back of the
Sound L and reconnect it to the mains.
Now, the Sound L executes the update automatically. The update is only
5
completed after the Sound L has returned to standby or its normal opera-
ting state and responds to the remote control (after approx. 21/2-3 min.).
Remove the USB memory stick (only) now.
