6. MAINTENANCE

• Before washing the air filter, stop the unit operation and turn off the circuit breaker.
The fan rotates at high speed may cause injury.
• Do not wash the unit with water.
Water may cause short circuit or electric shock.
• When cleaning the air filter, ensure that you have a good footing.
If you are standing on a ladder or other types of platform, ensure that it is secured to avoid accident.
Removing the air filter
1 Open the inlet grille.
Press the knobs (two) on the ends of the grille
inward and pull down the grille.
2 Remove the air filter.
1 Grasp the air filter's grip and pull it towards you.
2 Pull downwards.
Installing the air filter
1 Insert the air filter to the hooks of the grille for fixing (4 positions).
2 Close the suction grille in the reverse order of the above steps 1 and 2.
NOTE
Do not operate the air conditioner with the air filter removed. Otherwise, dirt will be accumulated
and cause damages to the air conditioner occasionally.
Cleaning the inlet air filter
Indication for cleaning;
• For wired remote control...
"FILTER CLEAN" will appear on the remote control display.
• For wireless remote control...
the filter indicator on the ray receiver will illuminate.
• Use vacuum cleaner or water to clean the air filter.
When the air filter is very dirty
Soak the filter in lukewarm water (45° or below) with mild
detergent.
Cleaning the outer cover
• Wipe with a dry soft cloth or a cloth slightly moistened with
water or neutral detergent solution.
End of season cleaning
• Clean the filter and the body of both the indoor and outdoor
units.
• Turn off the circuit breaker.
The unit contains a crank case heater to protect the
compressor. When the unit is not in use for a long period
of time, turn off the circuit breaker (the heater consumes
25 to 40 watts of electricity per hour).
Before starting the air conditioner for the first time in the season
• Check that the inlet and outlet vents of both the indoor and
outdoor units are not blocked.
• Check that the ground wire is connected and is in good
condition.

Important notes:
• Clean the air filter every 1 1/2 months when operating the
unit in a dusty area.
• Dry the air filter in shade, away from fire or direct sunlight.
• If the air filter is damaged, please engage an authorized
dealer.
• After cleaning the air filter, press the FILTER RESET button
on the remote control to reset the "FILTER CLEAN" display
or the FILTER indicator of the ray receiver.
Important notes:
• Wiping with benzine or thinner could cause discoloration or
flaking of the unit's finishing.
• If use chemically treated cloth to clean the unit, please read
and follow the attached directions and warnings.
• Remove dust from the outdoor unit.
• Clean off the rust on the outdoor unit to prevent it from
spreading.
• Check that the air filter has been cleaned.
• Turn on the circuit breaker about 12 hours before operating the
air conditioner. Operating the air conditioner immediately after
turning on the circuit breaker may cause damage to the unit.
Do not cut off the circuit breaker during the season.
