After activating the integrated RAID setup by pressing the key F4, the upper
half of the screen will first display the connected drives and the lower half the RAID
sets which have already been configured.
The drive listing in the upper half of the screen includes the following
parameters:
-
consecutive drive numbers, starting with "0"
-
IDE port identification
-
drive type identification
-
capacity
If the drive is part of a RAID set:
-
drive RAID status
-
consecutive RAID set numbers belonging to the drives.
The RAID status of the drive purports the following meaning:
Current:
everything okay
Rebuild:
no up-to-date data, "rebuild" necessary
Sriping:
creating a stripe set was interrupted unintentionally, carrying out a
"complete stripe set" procedure is necessary
Conflict:
there is a conflict concerning the port allocation of the other drives
Removed:
the drive has been removed from the RAID set
Dropped:
the drive has been automatically locked
None:
no status; spare drive, for instance
Corrupted:
invalid RAID configuration data of the drive
The lower half of the screen will display the existing RAID sets in the following way:
-
consecutive RAID set numbers (see above)
-
IDE port identification under which the RAID set is managed by the BIOS
-
RAID type
-
block size (only with stripe or mirror-stripe RAID sets)
-
respective drives (see drive numbers mentioned above)
-
RAID set capacity
-
RAID set status (see installation message)
Keys F1, F2 and F3 allow you to activate the functions for new configuration,
for deletion and for repair and error treatment; the ESC key allows you to leave
the RAID setup.
All setup functions are selected via the error and ENTER keys; the ESC key
is basically used to discontinue the current function and to return to the previous
selection.
