Troubleshooting

Symptom
Always "Searching"
No operation
Handset seems to have very
short battery life
Check & Remedy
Check that the power adapter is
connected properly.
Put the handset back on the base
Reset the phone: unplug the base,
remove the handset batteries, then
plug the base in again and replace
the batteries.
If still 'Searching', see: 'add a new
handset' procedure p33
Check that the power adapter is
connected properly.
Check that the telephone line cord is
connected properly.
Check that the handset batteries are
installed properly and fully charged.
Check that the charge contacts are
clean and that the charge light comes
on when the handset is placed in the
charging cradle.
Consistently short battery life may
indicate that replacement batteries
are necessary.
