Three module card slots are available for ex-
pansion of the communication unit. These
can be equipped as follows:

SMpdp, SMdev and SMeth can each be
used only once.
Only hardware version 2.1 is permitted in the
KE310 with SMeth (Fig. 13).

For safety and EMC reasons, close off slots
that are not occupied by Rexroth interface
modules with BP302 dummy panels, order
no. 3 608 871 392.

Insert the modules into the communication
unit from the front and secure them with bolts
against unintended loosening.
Before inserting the in-
terface modules, the
system boxes or

be switched to neutral
and a discharging time
of ≥ 3 minutes must be
taken into account.
