8. CI+ slot for Pay-TV expansion

You can use the TV to receive not only free-to-air programs, but also encrypted programs, provi-
ded you have a smart card and a CI module from the respective program provider.
1. Insert the smartcard into the CI module:
Carefully insert the smartcard into the CI module.
Make sure that the golden chip of the
Smartcard points upwards.
2. Inserting the CI module:
The module only needs to be inserted 2-3 cm into the
CI slot can be plugged in. Thus
the CAM module snaps in correctly,

slight resistance.

ƒ Please install the CI+ module after you have completed the channel scan and made all other

settings.

ƒ At the first use it can take a few minutes until the module and the smartcard are activated. The
module checks the activation again each time the TV is switched on, if necessary.
ƒ If a CI+ module is used, the TV station can prohibit or (time) limit the recording/time shifting
of programs. Recordings from stations that require CI+ are stored encrypted on the USB de-
vice. The recordings cannot be transferred to other devices. The restrictions on recording are
determined by the TV stations. Device manufacturers must comply with these specifications.
