On TEUFELBERGER fall arrest harnesses, the wa-
ist belts (depending on model and design) include
mounts for gear ("gear loops" - Pic. 11) and tool
bag mounts ("attachment rings" - Pic. 12).
Pic 11
They must not be used to belay persons and have
the following max. load carrying capacity (static):
Gear loop (Pic. 11):
2 kg max. per loop
(e.g., to transport carabiners, ascenders, aluminum
pulleys)
Tool bag attachment ring (Pic. 12)
10 kg max. per ring
(for attaching one tool bag to 2 rings each)
CAUTION! Falls can result in dynamic loads that
exceed these acceptable values (this requires ad-
ditional protection of the parts carried on them
against falling down or protection of the endangered
zones under the work site).

4. How to put on the harness correctly:
Step into the waist belt with your feet.
Apply shoulder straps (red webbing)
Thread chest strap through the loop in the
connection to the waist belt and close it.
Close the leg loops.
Adjust the leg loops, waist belts and shoulder
straps (it should be possible to put a flat hand
between the belt and the body), the fall arrest
eyelets (designated "A") in front of the breast
bone, the holding eyelets at the front center
and/or laterally at the waist belt..
5. How to select an anchor point:
According to EN 795, the anchor point (anchor de-
vice) for personal protective equipment against falls
from a height must be able to withstand a force of
12 kN and meet the requirements specified in the
user's guide of the fall protection system used. The
anchor point should always be located above the
user.
The connection between the harness and anchor
point must be suitable for the standard covering the
respective type of use and must have been certified
to it.
Fall arrest system (e.g., energy absorber to
EN 355, guided type fall arresters to EN 353-
1/2, retractable type fall arresters to EN 360)
Restraint system (e.g., lanyards to EN 354 or
EN 358)
Work positioning system (e.g., lanyards to
EN 354 or EN 358)
Rope access system (e.g., rope adjustment
device to EN 12841, rope to EN 1891)
It is crucial to safety to select the position of the
anchor point and the way how the work is done
such that the free fall and the height of a fall are
restricted to a minimum. It is crucial to safety to
ensure prior to any work assignment that there is
enough free space at the work site under the user
(prevention of an impact on the ground or on an
obstacle).
Only a fall arrest harness may be used as the
body holding device in a fall arrest system.
Lanyards must not be placed across sharp edges!
Pendulum motions during falls must be avoided
by selecting a suitable anchor point.
