Safety instructions
Make sure that any person installing, taking into operation
and operating the Relay R1:
• Is technically qualified and competent.
• Fully complies with these assembling instructions.
Improper operations or misuse could cause danger to:
• life and limb.
• to the equipment and other assets of the operator.
• to the equipment proper function.
Opening of the device will void your warranty.
Safety instructions in this manual are shown in three diffe-
rent forms to emphasize important information.
WARNING

other property of the user. Serious or fatal injury cannot be

Safety notes on the equipment operation
Electrical installation is subject to the relevant national
safety rules.
It is mandatory to connect the grounding cable because of
safety reason.
CAUTION
Installation, electrical connection and fitting the device may only
be performed by qualified personnel and only in accordance
with this instruction manual.
It is the responsibility of the user to ensure that the device is
used for specified application only.
For safety matters, please avoid any unauthorized and
improperly works.
WARNING
All relevant fire protection regulations must be strictly followed.

NOTE

Product description

For distribution transformer, the gas relay is mounted
on the transformer tank . When gas is generated in the
transformer it is collected in the chamber of the relay
generating alarm and trip signal.
Alternatively , it is mounted on top of oil conservators and
once there is air flow from air bag it trips the transformer.
WARNING
It is important to observe the limit values indicated on
the nameplate and in the operating instruction before
commissioning the device.

Installation

Assembly
CAUTION
The operating and installation requirements described in this
manual must be strictly followed. If not, the device can be
damaged or a malfunction may occur.
Figure A/1
Relay R1 can be installed on Hermetic transformer (Figure
A/1) or on the top of conservator (see mounting sketch
Figure A/2) using n. 4 screws and nuts M10. Tightening is
obtained using a flat gasket made in NBR material (please
note that it is not included with the device). After mounting
and before the device is starting to work, air inside body
has to be removed by opening gas release cock (Fig.B/5).
