Electrical connection

ATTENTION! ESD damage!
Electrostatic discharge can lead to damage to electronic com-
ponents!
Î Take care to discharge properly before touching the inside
of the device! To do so, touch a grounded surface such as a
radiator or tap!
ATTENTION! Short circuit!
A short circuit can lead to damage to electronic components!
Î Establish the power supply only after you have connected
all cables required to the terminals and closed the housing.
Note
The connection to the power supply must always be the last step of the
installation!
If the mains adapter or its cable is damaged, it has to be replaced by an identical
mains adapter, which is available from the manufacturer or its customer service.
Do not use the device if it is visibly damaged!
Depending on the product version, mains adapter and VBus
nected to the device. If that is not the case, please proceed as follows:
1. In order to open the housing, unscrew the screw and remove the upper part
of the housing.
2. Connect the VBus ® cable (included with the device) to the 2 VBus
3. Connect the interface adapter to the controller by means of the VBus
The VBus ® cable can be extended or replaced respectively with a two-wire cable
(cross section at least 0.5 mm²). The bus cable can be extended up to 50 m in the
case of a single connection.
With the VBus -Repeater distances of up to 150 m between the controller and the

interface adapter are possible.

4. In order to close the housing, put the the upper part of the housing onto the
lower part and tighten the screw.
5. Connect the device to the power supply by means of the mains adapter.
The interface adapter is now ready for operation.
The terminals marked PWM are not assigned.

The following elements are featured on / in the housing of the interface adapter:
1 - Set button
2 - MicroSD card slot
3 - Power supply connection
4 - Status LED (red / green)
5 - VBus
6 - Bidirectional PWM / 0-10 V output (not assigned)
7 - 7-segment display
with cables carrying a voltage higher than 50 V can lead to da-
mage to the device.
Î Always route extra-low voltage cables and mains cables se-
parately!
Î Pay attention to the local regulations!
