2.2.3 Inspection of vertical pipings
Pipings, such as chimneys or downpipes, can be inspected best from above. The
cable reel is ideal for that purpose. If you carry it in front of the body with the four-point
carrying belt system, your hands will be free for working. First jam the two narrow
snap-hooks in the two openings at the left and the right under the grip. The two round
snap-hooks will be fixed to the stand, so that the red reset-button on the reel shows to
the body. This way you can move optimally and you are able to regard the display at
every time.
If it is not necesarry to change the position of the cable reel during the inspection, it will
be best to put the cable reel on a table or on the floor while working. In this case you will
have to unfold the stand.
After having put the cable reel in the best position, release the brake by turning the knob
at the reel half a rotation left. Now you can let the cable with the camera head down in
the pipe. If you want to control a special point of the pipe in a more detailed way, you will
have to fix the brake by turning the rotation button back.
During transport the brake generally has to be fixed and the stand and the monitor holder
must be folded.
