THE TILTING MECHANISM
For reaching the trunk of your car easily, even if the bikes are standing on the
carrier, you can use the tilting mechanism.
By pushing the complete carrier up, it will tilt
back and lock and secure itself. Remember to
lock the system again (turn knob to
"locked" green lock).
The bike carrier may never be used
if the tilting mechanism is not well
secured by the lock.
ACCESSORY (not included)
First you have to open the lock of the
tilting mechanism (turn knob to
"unlocked" red lock). Then hold with one
hand the U-ring (or the bikes), to prevent
the carrier to fall down unexpectedly.
With the other hand you pull the handle of
the tilting mechanism up to release it.
Now you can move
the carrier down
slowly and you
have access to
your trunk.
With the optional ride-on ramp (Article
91549), you can really simply drive your
bicycle on the bike carrier without lifting. To
do this install the ride-on ramp onto the
wheel holder using the pin and the special
hole. As shown in the picture.
