Clean the tanks before using them for the first time
1 To avoid damage to the device, make sure that the device is switched off
and disconnected from the power supply before attaching or removing
components of the device.
Important: When cleaning the device for the first time, only use water. Do not
use coffee powder, tea powder or milk in the individual steps of cleaning.
2 Remove the milk tank as described under OPERATION and fill it with water.
Make sure that the amount filled is between the MIN and MAX marks in the
milk tank.
3 Insert the milk tank into the device.
Note: The device continuously generates a simple error tone if the milk tank or
the filter insert has not been inserted or has not been inserted correctly. Insert
the components as described in the OPERATION section.
4 Open the lid of the water tank.
Note: Always use cold water to fill the water tank. Never use warm or hot water.
5 Fill the water tank with water. Make sure that the amount filled is within the
MIN and MAX marks in the water tank.
6 Close the lid of the water tank. It clicks into place when it is closed correctly.
7 Place a cup on the drip grid.
8 Align the outlet of the frother to the inside of the cup to avoid accidental
scalding.
9 Connect the device to the mains and press the POWER button to switch the
device on.
10 The device will pump water out of the water tank for 3 seconds.
11 The POWER indicator will flash and the device will begin to heat up.
12 The POWER indicator will stop flashing as soon as the water has reached the
temperature suitable for preparation.
13 Select one of the programmes COFFEE, TEA, MILK TEA, MILK FROTH,
CAPPUCCINO, CAFFÈ LATTE to clean the machine. To do this, read and follow
the steps listed in the PROGRAMMES section in addition to these steps.
