Installation Instructions

Installation, electrical connection and commissioning of the heater may only be performed by an
authorised specialist. The assembly and operating instructions must be handed over to the user
after installation and commissioning.

2.1 Scope of delivery:

2.2 Rules and Regulations

The heaters are unsuitable for use in rooms where there is a risk of fire or explosion due to chemi-
cals, dust, gases or fumes. In workshops or other rooms in which exhaust fumes, oil and petrol
smells occur or solvents and chemicals are used the unpleasant smell may linger and could possibly
cause soiling.
• The heater may only be mounted on a vertical wall which is temperature resistant up to at least
80°C.
• The minimum safety distance (see 2.3) away from adjacent object surfaces must be kept.
• All electrical connection and installation work must be performed in accordance with the VDE
regulations (0100), the regulations of the electricity supply company responsible and the
pertinent national and regional regulations.
• The heater may not be mounted immediately below a wall power outlet.
• The heater must be permanently connected to the AC mains (connecting socket) and must be
disconnectable from the mains at all poles over a disconnecting distance of at least 3 mm.
Contactors, circuit breakers, fuses etc. can be used for this.
Installation with permanently laid connecting lead is not permitted.
• The unit's rating plate must be observed!
The specified voltage must match the rated voltage.
• When installing the heater in rooms with a bath tub and/or shower the safety regulations in
accordance with VDE 0100 Part 701 must be observed in agreement with the specifications on
the unit's rating plate.
• The heater must be installed so that the switching and regulating devices cannot be touched by a
person sitting in the bath or standing in the shower.
• The power cable may only be replaced by a qualified electrician with original AEG spare parts.

2.3 Equipment Assembly

Distances for mounting the heater
The distance between the bottom edge of the heater and the floor may not be less than 15 cm. A
minimum distance of 20 cm must also be kept at the sides and top. Objects must be kept at least
50 cm away from the front of the heater. Make sure that inflammable materials such as curtains,
furniture etc. are at least 20 cm away.
The heater may not be installed directly below a built-in wall power outlet.
When installing the heater in a bathroom safety zones around the bath and shower must be ob-
served in accordance with VDE part 701. The heater must be installed so that the operating
elements cannot be touched by persons using the bath or shower.
