Notes:
6) The type of protection changes as follows when the transmitter is connected to certified intrinsically safe circuits of
Category ib for Group IIC or IIB: EEx ib T6 or EEx ib IIB T6.
The antenna may not be operated in Zone 0 if the transmitter is connected to a circuit of Category ib.
6.1) The pertinent guidelines must be observed when intrinsically safe circuits are connected together (EN 60 079-14);
(Verification of the intrinsic safety)
(e.g. when using the Commubox FXA 191, the handheld terminal DXR 275 or other certified apparatus).
7) Option: overvoltage protection HAW 262 Z see Fig. 2.
– The external overvoltage protector HAW 262 Z and the transmitter are to be connected to the local equipotential
bonding system.
– Potentials must be equalised both inside and outside the explosion hazardous area.
– The cable connecting the HAW 262 Z and the transmitter shall not exceeed 1 m in length.
It shall be protected, e.g. routed in an armoured hose.
– The equipotential bonding shall be min. 4 mm² copper.
Power and signal circuits with type of protection intrinsic safety EEx ia IIC or IIB
For connection to a certified intrinsically safe circuit with the following maximum values:
Ui = 30 V
Ii = 300 mA
Pi =
1 W
Safety notes for Zone 0:
8) Potentially explosive vapour/air mixtures may arise under atmospheric conditions only:
If no potentially explosive mixtures are present, or if additional protective measures have been taken, e.g. EN 1127-1,
the transmitters may be operated under other than atmospheric conditions in accordance with the manufacturer's
specifications.
9) The antenna may be employed only in those media, for which the wetted parts are known to be suitable.
10) The construction of the transmitter renders unnecessary any additional overvoltage protection for plants that must be
protected against risk of ignition through lightning in accordance with German National Guidelines TRbF 100 No. 8.
11) Associated apparatus with galvanic isolation between the intriniscally safe and non-intrinisically safe circuuits are to be
preferred.
