Electrical connection

The electrical connection of the VVX is via a 5-pin plug M12x1 mounted on the cover of the
electronics housing.
The wiring of the VVX depends on the ordered version, with two types of output available
(frequency or analogue) and differences in the basic and optional wiring.
CAUTION
The electrical connection should only be carried out by a fully qualified electrician.
 De-energize the electrical system before connecting the VVX.
IMPORTANT
Exceeding the specified limits will cause damage to the device's electronics. In
the absence of current limiting, there is a risk of fire due to device overheating.
 Always connect the VVX to an electrical source with power limitation.
Optional wiring
All VVX are configured to allow one flow output (frequency or analogue) to be wired as stand-
ard.
Depending upon the selected configuration, an optional temperature output, alarm output or
analogue output may also be wired.
Connection cable
Matching connecting cables with female connector M12x1 are available in a various lengths
as SIKA accessories. Shielded connecting cables are not necessary.
IMPORTANT
Observe the temperature resistance of the connection cable at high media tem-
peratures.
If the maximum operating temperature is less than the media temperature, avoid
direct contact between the cable and the pipe.
Connection 5-pin plug M12x1
 Attach the female connector of the cable to the male connector of the VVX.
 Tighten the knurled nut of the female connector (do not exceed 1 Nm torque)
Earthing for VVX32 / VVX40
The metallic pipe section should be earthed if possible. A borehole M4x6.5 is provided on the
pipe section for this purpose.
