Safety instructions

General
Be careful:
Never change the construction of the
wheelchair.
Use only original Life & Mobility parts and
accessories. These are tested and safe.
Attention:
Directions, safety symbols and instructions
are attached to this wheelchair. They must
not be covered over or removed. They must
remain attached to the wheelchair throughout
its lifespan and be clearly legible.
Assembly and adjustment (see p. 16)
Warning:
Before using the wheelchair, check that all its
parts are properly mounted and secured.
Attention:
Ensure that the push bars, the armrests,
the lower leg length and the headrest,
if applicable, are adjusted to the correct
height.
The
foot
supports
must
5 cm from the floor.
In certain configurations, the wheelchair can
be longer and/or wider than recommended
according to the standard. This could make
access to emergency exits more difficult.
Use the adjustment options (push bar lower,
seat angle upright, legrests and armrests at
a different angle or remove them) in order to
make the wheelchair more compact.

Safety instructions
Sitting in the wheelchair
Warning:
Make sure that the occupant's fingers and
limbs are not trapped between the frame and
the wheels or between the wheels' spokes.
Always be very careful when:
• The wheelchair is tilted far backwards
• The wheelchair is set to the highest seat
level.
• The occupant is sitting lopsided in the
wheelchair.
• The occupant has his/her arms hanging
limp over the armrest.
• A combination of the above occur.
Prevent the feet of the user from ending up
between the two foot supports. There is a
heel strap or a central legrest available for
this purpose.
Driving the wheelchair (See also p. 32).
Warning:
The posture belt is not suitable to serve as a
safety belt.
Attention:
Pay attention to your hands when using the
handrims if there is not much room at the
side(s) of the wheelchair.
Set the brake on the wheelchair before
making a transfer.
Use the brake only to block the wheels when
standing still. The brake is not suitable for
braking the wheelchair.
The maximum pushing force required can
differ for each configuration. Among other
things, this depends on the weight of the
occupant, the height of the push bars and the
settings of the balance point.
