Maintenance

Minor maintenance (every two weeks)
You can do minor maintenance on the chair yourself.
Clean your wheelchair with a damp cloth, water and
an all purpose cleaner.
N.B.: never use abrasive and aggressive cleaners
or solvents (thinners, benzine or similar).
The gas springs and the gas spring block (the
rectangular block at the end of the gas spring) should
be lubricated regularly with, for example, Teflon spray.
This will keep them working properly.
Check that all fastenings are secure. Tighten if
necessary.
N.B.: over-tightening the screws can damage the
wheelchair.
Check the tyre pressure and condition of the tyres
(ageing) regularly. Soft tyres make the wheelchair
more difficult to use as they increase resistance.
Use, if necessary, the valve nipple supplied with the
wheelchair for pumping up the tyres (for example,
when using a bicycle pump). The correct tyre pressure
is shown on the tyres.
Major maintenance (annual)
Your dealer will be happy to carry out the major
maintenance of your wheelchair. You can then be sure
that you will be getting the best possible use out of
your wheelchair. You should also consult your dealer if
components need replacing.

Technical problems

In the unlikely event that you experience technical
problems with your wheelchair, please contact your
dealer. The dealer will decide whether he can repair
the chair or whether it will have to be returned to the
factory.
You may be able to solve some problems yourself.
The seat angle can no longer be adjusted
n Check whether the operating cable is bent or has
become trapped somewhere.
n Check whether the gas spring block moves when
the handle is pressed. Lubricate the gas spring
block if necessary.
Movable components such as the push-bar, height-
adjustable armrest, legrest and sides get stuck
n These components can become jammed in the
frame if too much pressure is exerted on them.
Carefully tap the components loose with a plastic
hammer.
Socket screws for one-off adjustment cannot be
loosened
n The screws may have been over-tightened. Try
placing a tube over the long end of the Allen
key so as to lengthen the turning arm. Now try
loosening the screw.
n The socket head may be stripped: Try gripping the
screw with a monkey wrench. If this fails consult
your dealer.
The brakes have insufficient braking power or do not
brake uniformly on both sides
n You should adjust the brakes; go to page 25.
