2. Installing the scanner driver
In order for your computer to communicate with your scanner, you need to install the scanner driver.
Windows users

Insert the IRIScan
in the DVD‐ROM drive.

Click Run menu.exe in the AutoPlay
window that appears.

Click Scanner in the Setup screen and
follow the on‐screen instructions to install
it.
Note: during the installation of the scanner driver, a basic scanning
application called Capture Tool is also installed on your PC. You can
access it from Start>Programs>IRIS IRIScan Pro Scanner>Capture Tool.
3. Installing the software packages

The IRIScan Pro 3 scanner is delivered with the software applications Readiris
allow you to scan, recognize and process all kinds of documents and business cards, and IRISFile
document management application. To install these applications:
Windows users

Return to the Setup screen and click the
application you want to install.

Follow the on‐screen instructions.
4. Connecting the scanner to a power source
There are two ways to supply power to the scanner:
1/ Via the power adapter to a power outlet

Plug the small end of the power adapter
into the power jack of your scanner.

Insert the other end into an appropriate
power outlet.
5. Connecting the scanner to your computer

Plug the mini end of the USB cable into the mini USB socket on the scanner.

Plug the large end of the USB cable into a free USB port on your computer.


Insert the IRIScan
in the DVD‐ROM drive.

Double‐click the IRIScan
appears on the Desktop.

Open the IRIScan

Double‐click the driver Installer and follow
the on‐screen instructions.
Mac users

Return to the IRIScan
double‐click the application you want to
install.

Launch the application's installer.
2/ Via a USB power connection to your computer

Plug the round end of the USB power cable
into the power jack of your scanner.

Connect the rectangle end into a free USB
port on your computer.
