Connections

Before connecting the device to the power supply with the
power cord, all other cable connections shall be made as
described here.
To do this, connect the CMx2 transmitter according to
the selected variant with the supplied HDMI cable or the
DisplayPort cable via the video IN socket with the source.
To ensure perfect transmission quality, only the connection
cables included in the delivery must be used.
Alternatively, you can use the adapter cable HDMI (m) to DVI
(m) (# 31500024) from the accessories range.
Attention: When using DVI connections, no 4K transmission is
possible! The picture quality is reduced.
Analogously, the receiver is connected via the video OUT
socket with the output medium (monitor, display,
video wall, ...).
Then connect the CMX2 transmitter via the fiber-out socket
to the CMx2 receiver via the fiber-IN socket with a fiber-optic
cable. Depending on the selected media converter version,
use an EBC1502 fiber optic cable or Neutrik OpticalCon® DUO
fiber optic cable with a core diameter of 50 / 125μm.

Starting up CMx2 DisplayPort

When all connections are properly fixed, the "Status" LED
on the side of the HDMI jacks on both devices lights in the
following color:
Green, constantly - signal transmission
The image signal of the video source can now be seen on the
output medium.
page: 6
Do not use simple patch cords without locking. Please note
that the fiber optic cable is not included!
Next, connect the Ethernet ports to your LAN devices
according to your encoding (EthernetPort1 and
EthernetPort2). Since the CMx2 media converters send both
Ethernet signals bi-directionally over a fiber optic cable using
the CDWM technology, both devices can work as Ethernet
transmitters and Ethernet receivers.
Finally, connect the two power cords included with the CMx2
media converters to the "Power" jacks on both devices. The
two PowerCon® True1 plugs must click into place after a slight
turn to the right.
Now both power plugs can be connected to a mains socket
protected by an RCCB and MCB.
Please first put the transmitter and then the receiver into
operation.
Attention: Please consider the country-specific mains supply.
Condition on delivery is a power cord with Schuko plug.
Now you can put the sources first and then the receivers into
operation.
If there is no fiber connection between the CMx2 transmitter
and the CMx2 receiver, the "Status" LED on the receiver
flashes green.
This is also for a fiber connection with excessive attenuation
or length exceeding of the fiber optic cable. So it is quite easy
to locate a fault within the fiber optic connection.
