To perform the coupler part of the RECD measurement
snap the RECD Adaptor (I) [# 87 86 019] onto the 2 CC
Coupler (J) [# 87 85 946] and insert the end of the SPL60
Insitu Probe Tip (H) without foam tip into the opening
of the RECD Adaptor (I). Follow the instructions given in
I
the software user interface for performing the RECD
measurement.

5.6.1 Validation of the probe reference microphone
frequency response
During RECD measurement the ear canal response is
recorded using the probe measurement microphone,
whereas the coupler response is recorded using the cou-
pler reference microphone. For a valid result the fre-
quency response of both microphones needs to be as
identical as possible. To check this, perform both steps of
the RECD measurement with the handle of the SPL60
Insitu Ear Tip inserted into the RECD Adaptor, as it is
shown in the picture above. The result must be a flat
frequency response in the RECD diagram (arrow).
