OPERATION
a) Inserting / replacing batteries
Observe correct polarity when inserting batteries. Batteries should be
removed from the device if it is not used for a long period of time to avoid
damage through leaking. Contact with damaged batteries can cause acid
burns on skin. Always wear proper protective gloves when handling damaged
batteries.
Batteries must be kept out of reach of children. Do not leave (rechargeable) batteries
lying around, as there is risk, that children or pets swallow them.
Replace all batteries at the same time. Mixing old and new batteries in the device can
lead to battery leakage and device damage.
Do not dismantle batteries and avoid short circuits and contact with fire. Never
recharge non-rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
1. Once the battery voltage is only ≤2.8 V, the full battery status symbol appears in the upper
right corner of the display. Once the battery voltage drops to ≤2.6 V, the empty battery
status symbol starts flashing; measurements can no longer be conducted. Replace the
batteries as follows.
2. Open the battery compartment lid (1) by turning it anticlockwise.
3. Replace the exhausted batteries by new batteries of the same type, thereby observing
correct polarity (positive terminal facing outwards).
4. Close the battery compartment lid (1) by turning it clockwise.
b) Operation
To measure temperatures, press and hold the measurement button (2) and point the probe (4)
at the object to be tested for one second. Make sure the measuring object is bigger than the
measuring spot. The calculated temperature is the average temperature of the measured
surface. Distance and size of measuring spot are in proportion of 1:1.
The temperature measured last will be shown on the display (3). When releasing the
measurement button (2), the display will continue to show the last measured temperature
for approx. 15 seconds. The thermometer will switch off automatically after 15 seconds of

inactivity.
Press the °C / ºF pinhole button (5) on the back of the thermometer using a sharp object in
order to select the desired unit for display (°C/°F).

CLEANING AND CARE
Avoid contact with moisture. If the thermometer gets in contact with moisture, dry it
immediately.
Blow loose dirt particles from the probe head. Use a fine lens brush to remove any remaining
dirt residue.
Clean the surface of the thermometer with a slightly damp cloth. Dampen the cloth with water
only. Do not use any chemicals or cleaning agents for cleaning.
DISPOSAL

Disposal of unusable batteries and rechargeable batteries
Return unusable batteries and rechargeable batteries to designated collection facilities of
your waste disposal company or to shops that sell batteries for free. That way you fulfill your
legal obligation and at the same time help protect the environment!

The thermometer cannot measure through transparent surfaces. It will measure the
temperature of the surface instead.
To maintain the accuracy of the thermometer, it should not be used in locations
with excessive generation of water steam, dust, smoke and/or vapors. It is also not
recommended measuring reflecting surfaces such as stainless steel or aluminum
packaging.
The measured object is too cold (below -33°C) or too hot (above
Hi
or
500°C).
The thermometer was too quickly exposed to temperature changes.
Wait for the thermometer temperature to stabilize.
The thermometer temperature exceeds the operating conditions
(-33 to +50ºC).
The thermometer must be restarted. Remove the batteries and wait for
approx. 1 minute. Then reinsert the batteries.
Disposal of electric and electronic devices and components
In order to protect the environment and to fully recycle raw materials, users are
obligated to return used and defect devices to public collection facilities for the
recycling of electronic waste products.
The crossed out wheelie bin symbol indicates that this product must be disposed of
at a collection facility for electronic waste products in order to allow for the recycling
of raw materials in the best possible way.
