8. Preparation for operation

a) General information

The water which will be pumped must be clean and clear. Only fine suspended matter is admissible, which
may occur in every normal water collection unit. Coarser impurities (leaves, dirt particles, pebbles etc.) clog
the water filter or block the pump.
The battery (5) status indicator (1) on the control unit (3) lights up during operation to indicate the available
battery capacity in four levels as a percentage: 100% - 75% - 50% - 25%.
• Ensure the water collection unit is placed on a flat level surface and will not fall over when the pump is placed
inside during operation.
• Ensure water and humidity does not come into contact with the control unit and battery.
• The product may only be operated in a vertical position! For handheld extraction of water (paddling pools, ponds
boats etc.) hold the product firmly in a steady position and never allow the product to run dry.
b) Inserting and removing the battery
Do not use batteries and chargers from other manufacturers.
• Insert the battery into the bottom of the control unit (Fig. 1) until it clicks and locks into position (Fig. 2).
• To remove the battery, press the battery unlocking latch (19) (Fig. 3) and slide the battery out the control unit.

During heavy operation, the battery can heat up. Always allow the battery to cool down before you charge
the battery.
• Remove the battery from the control unit (see previous chapter).
• Connect the charger (14) to the battery (Fig. 4), then connect the plug to a suitable mains socket outlet.
