5. POWER SUPPLY

5.1 Inserting batteries

1
For operation, the waistband amplifier requires six batteries or rechargeable batteries type AA. Unfold
the rear cover and insert suitable batteries as indicated in the battery compartment. Replace the cover.
Never connect a power unit if non-rechargeable batteries are used.
2
With fully charged batteries the waistband amplifier can be operated between 6 and 8 hours. If the
power indicator lights up red, the batteries are going flat and the amplifier switches off automatically
within a short time.
3
If the waistband amplifier is not used for a longer period (approx. 1-2 weeks), please remove the
batteries to prevent damage in case of battery leakage. Please refer to further explanations in chapter
Safety Instructions.
Only replace by the same type or similar types recommended by the manufacturer.
Remove empty battery in accordance with the instructions of the manufacturer.
Batteries are hazardous waste and should not be disposed of with regular domestic waste!
Please take discharged batteries to a collection center near you.

5.2 Recharging batteries

1
If the waistband amplifier is operated with rechargeable batteries, they can be loaded via an optional
power unit. Connect the low voltage plug of the power unit to the DC-9V input and power unit to a
power outlet. The charging procedure starts and the charging indicator lights up. Charging time varies
according to the capacity of the batteries.
2
The unit does not have to be switched on for recharging.
3
After charging, disconnect the power unit.

6. OPERATION

1
Connect the plug of the headset microphone to the waistband amplifier's microphone input.
2
An additional audio unit with line level (e.g. MP3 player) may be connected to the Aux input.
3
Put on the headset microphone and tie the waistband amplifier around your waist sing the snap-in belt.
4
Switch on the unit with power switch. The power indicator lights up green.
5
