Jacket
The heating jackets are placed
around the housing to be heated.
The surface to be heated has to
be dry and clean. It must not be
coated.
Please check if the jacket is mois-
ture proof on the specification
plate. If the heating jacket is not
moister protected, only use it in
dry environments.
When installing the heating
jacket, make sure that the
jacket is in close contact with
the entire surface of the hous-
ing to be heated.
The heating jacket must
never be overlapped when
installed; otherwise inad-
missible over-temperatures
will lead to distortion of the
jacket.
Do not position the heating
jacket over sharp edges, cor-
ners
or
observance of this provision
may lead to damage of jack-
ets.
Never stick needles or sharp
items into the heating jacket!
Heating jackets which are not
protected against hazardous
body currents (please refer to
specification plate), have to be
installed in such a manner
that any risk is excluded.
Metallic components coming
in contact with the heating
jacket have to be checked to
requirements
Class I (protective earthing).
Please refer to appropriate
standards and norms in your
country!

burrs.
Non-
of
Protection
The heating jackets must be con-
nected with two plugs – one is the
power cable, one the sensor – to the
controller. Both plugs are coded so
they only can be plugged to the
correct sockets on the controller.
System
At initial operation you should not
connect the power-cable of the
jacket (4 pin) to the controller before
setting up the controller!
Adjust the controller first and
then connect the power-cable of
the jacket.
Connect the power cable to the
controller and afterwards to the
mains. Compare if the main voltage
matches the one on the controller
unit first! Connect the sensor cable
to the controller (6 pin).
Set the controller to operation with
the switch (integrated fuse) at one
side of the box. The controller
should show you the actual process
temperature. Please follow the in-
formation written down in chapter
"Programming" for set-up of the
controller.
Refer to specification and trained
staff for correct settings of the
controller. Silicone has a maxi-
mum operational temperature of
200°C (392°F), PTFE of 260°C
(500°F). The controller should
never exceed these temperatures!
However, to protect the jackets from
exceeding temperatures, a limiter is
incorporated in the jacket (see
specifications).
In addition to this it is mandatory to
use a residual current circuit-breaker
device (RCD or ELCB)!
