Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Produkt dient dazu, ein VGA-Bild eines PCs umzuwandeln in ein FBAS-oder SVideo-Signal,
um dieses z.B. auf einem Fernseher wiederzugeben.

Anschluss
• Schalten Sie zuerst Ihren PC aus.
• Verbinden Sie dann die beiden 15poligen Anschlüsse des Konverters mit dem 15poligen
analogen VGA-Ausgang Ihrer Grafikkarte und dem Anschlusskabel des VGA-Monitors.
• Stecken Sie den USB-Stecker in einen freien USB-Port Ihres PCs. Achten Sie darauf, dass der
USB-Port ein sog. High-Power-USB-Port ist.
Dies ist ein USB-Port des Mainboards oder eines USB-Hubs mit eigenem Netzteil, der einen
Strom von 500mA liefern kann.
• Verbinden Sie danach einen der beiden Videoausgänge des Konverters (FBAS/Cinchbuchse
oder SVideo/Mini-DIN-Buchse) mit dem gewünschten Gerät (Fernseher, Videorecorder usw.).
• Schalten Sie den PC und z.B. den Fernseher ein.
• Wie gewohnt sollte nun das VGA-Bild auf dem VGA-Monitor erscheinen. Zusätzlich muss das
Bild auch z.B. auf dem Fernseher dargestellt werden.
• Windows erkennt KEINE neue Hardware, der USB-Anschluss dient nur zur Stromversorgung
des Konverters!
Einstellungen
• Ein kleiner versenkter Schalter auf der Unterseite des Konverters dient zur Umschaltung des
"Overscan"- und "Underscan"-Modus.
Im Overscan-Modus wird das Bild vergrößert dargestellt, um schwarze Balken an den
Rändern zu vermeiden. Je nach angeschlossenem Fernseher (bzw. bei der Aufzeichnung
z.B. mit einem Videorecorder) kann es dabei jedoch dazu kommen, dass Teile des PC-Bildes
verloren gehen.
Verwenden Sie dann den "Unterscan"-Modus.
• Eine Taste auf der Oberseite des Konverters dient der Feinjustierung. Drücken Sie die Taste
mehrfach, um die Darstellung des Bildes auf einem extern angeschlossenen Fernseher zu
verändern.
Ob sich eine Qualitätsverbesserung bei den unterschiedlichen Einstellungen zeigt, ist abhän-
gig vom verwendeten Fernseher.
Tipps & Hinweise
• Der Konverter benötigt zum Betrieb keinerlei Software oder Treiber.
Der USB-Anschluss dient nur zur Stromversorgung.

• Prinzipbedingt hat das Videobild auf einem Fernseher nur eine Auflösung von etwa 720*576
°
Pixeln.
Höhere Auflösungen des eines PC-VGA-Bildes (z.B. 1024*768) müssen deshalb auf die
Video-Auflösung umgerechnet werden. Dabei wird das PC-VGA-Bild unschärfer. Kleine
Schriften sind deshalb auf dem Fernseher nicht vernünftig lesbar.
Negativ wirkt sich auch das unterschiedliche Darstellungsverfahren von PC-VGA-Bild
(Vollbilder) und Videobild (Halbbilder) aus.
Verwenden Sie z.B. bei Präsentationen entweder höhere Schriftgrößen oder kleinere PC-
VGA-Auflösungen.
• Der zur Stromversorgung verwendete USB-Port muss ein sog. "High-Power-USB-Port" sein
(USB-Ports eines Mainboards oder eines USB-Hubs mit eigenem Netzteil). Dieser kann einen
Strom bis zu 500mA liefern.
• Bei Notebooks muss evtl. der VGA-Ausgang zuerst aktiviert werden, bevor ein Bild über den
Konverter dargestellt werden kann.
Manche hochwertige Notebooks können am VGA-Ausgang ein anderes Bild darstellen als das
des eingebauten Displays. Beachten Sie die Einstellungen der Grafikkarte des Notebooks.
• Der Konverter unterstützt folgende Auflösungen:
- 640*480, 60/72/75/85Hz
- 800*600, 60/72/75/85Hz
- 1024*768, 60/75/85Hz
- 1280*1024, 60Hz
Bei höheren Auflösungen und Bildwiederholfrequenzen kann das VGA-Monitorbild etwas
schlechter werden (Schatten an senrechten Linien o.ä.). Verringern Sie dann die Auflösung
bzw. Bildwiederholfrequenz des PC-Bildes.

Intended Use
The Product serves to convert the VGA image of a PC into a FBAS or SVideo signal in order to
play it back on a TV, for example.
Delivery Scope

Features

Connection:
• First turn off your PC.
• Then connect the two 15-pole connections of the converter with the 15-pole analogue VGA
output of your graphic card and the connection cable of the VGA monitor.
• Plug the USB plug into a free USB port on your PC. Make sure that the USB port is a so-called
high-power USB port.
• This is a port of the mainboard or a USB hub with own power pack that can provide a cur-
rent of 500 mA.
• Then connect one of the two video outputs of the converter (FBAS/cinch socket or
SVideo/mini-DIN socket) with the desired device (TV, video recorder, etc.).
• Turn on the PC and the TV, for example.
• The VGA image should now appear on the VGA monitor. In addition, the image must also be
displayed on the TV, for example.
• Windows DOES NOT detect any new hardware, the USB connection only servers for the pow-
er supply of the converter!
Settings
• A small flush switch on the bottom of the converter serves to switch between "Overscan"
and "Underscan" mode.
In overscan mode, the image is displayed enlarged in order to avoid black bars on the sides.
Depending on the connected TV (e.g. when recording with a video recorder, for example), it
might happen that parts of the PC image are lost.
Then use "Underscan" mode.
• A button on the top of the converter serves for fine tuning. Press this button repeatedly in
order to change the display of the image on an externally connected TV.
It depends on the TV you use whether the quality improves with the different settings.
Tips and Notices
• The converter does not require any software or drivers for operation.
The USB connection only serves for power supply.

• The video image only has a resolution of approx. 720*576 pixels.

Higher resolutions of a PC-VGA image (e.g. 1024*768) must therefore be converted to the
video resolution. This makes the OC-VGA image appear fuzzier. Small fonts are therefore not
properly legible on the TV.
The different display methods of PC-VGA image (full image) and video image (half image)
also has a negative impact.
So use larger font sizes or lower PC-VGA resolutions with presentations, for example.
• The USB port used for power supply must be a so-called high-power USB port (USB port of
a mainboard or a USB hub with own power pack.). This can provide a current of up to 500
mA.
• With notebooks, you might have to activate the VGA output first before an image can be dis-
played via the converter.
Some high-quality notebooks can display a different image on the VGA output than that of
the integrated display. Observe the settings of the notebook's graphic card.
• The converter supports the following resolutions:
- 640*480, 60/72/75/85 Hz
- 800*600, 60/72/75/85 Hz
- 1024*768, 60/75/85 Hz
- 1280*1024, 60 Hz
With higher resolutions and refresh rates, the VGA monitor image may deteriorate a bit
(shadows on the vertical lines and similar). Reduce the resolution respectively refresh rate of
the PC image.
