Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Produkt ist zum Anschluss an einen USB-Port eines Computers vorgesehen. Dort dient es als externe
Soundkarte; es kann ein Headset mit 3.5mm-Klinkensteckern angeschlossen werden (Buchse für Kopfhörer
und Buchse für Mikrofon vorhanden).
Alle enthaltenen Firmennamen und Produktbezeichnungen sind Warenzeichen der jeweiligen

Installation der Treiber
Starten Sie Ihren Computer und warten Sie, bis das Betriebssystem vollständig geladen ist.
Schließen Sie danach den USB-Adapter an einen freien USB-Port des Computers an. Das Betriebssystem
erkennt neue Hardware und installiert die Treiber automatisch (im Betriebssystem enthalten, deshalb liegt
kein Datenträger mit Treibern bei).
Wenn Ihr Computer bereits über eine Soundkarte verfügt (z.B. Onboard-Sound des Mainboards), so kann
z.B. bei Windows XP in der Systemsteuerung zwischen der bisherigen Soundkarte und dem USB-Adapter
umgeschaltet werden (Systemsteuerung > Sounds und Audiogeräte > Audio).
Anschluss und Bedienung
Verbinden Sie die beiden Stecker des Headsets mit den zugehörigen Buchsen auf dem USB-Adapter (z.B.
Kopfhörer- und Mikrofonsymbol auf den Steckern des Headsets bzw. des USB-Adapters beachten).
Andernfalls funktioniert weder das Mikrofon noch der Kopfhörer.
Die Taste auf dem USB-Adapter dient dem „Muting" des Mikrofons, also der Mikrofon-Stummschaltung. Die
LED neben der Taste blinkt bei aktivierter Stummschaltung.
Die Lautstärkeeinstellung für den Kopfhörer ist wie gewohnt über die Klangregelung am Computer
(Systemsteuerung) möglich. Gleiches gilt für das Mikrofon.
Tipps & Hinweise
• Unter DOS oder im abgesicherten Modus von Windows funktioniert USB nicht (oder nur eingeschränkt
für USB-Tastatur/-Maus). Der USB-Headset-Konverter kann hier nicht betrieben werden.
• Wählen Sie ggf. in der Systemsteuerung die richtige Soundkarte aus (interne Soundkarte bzw. Onboard-
Sound bzw. den USB-Headset-Konverter).
Nach dem Anstecken des USB-Headset-Konverters an den Computer ist dieser normalerweise
automatisch aktiviert.
• Der Mikrofoneingang muss möglicherweise erst aktiviert werden. Dies ist bei Windows XP sehr einfach
in der Systemsteuerung möglich (Systemsteuerung > Sounds und Audiogeräte > Lautstärke; danach ist
im Feld „Gerätelautstärke" auf „Erweitert" zu klicken. Es erscheint die Lautstärkeregelung (ggf. auch über
das Lautsprechersymbol in der Menüleiste aktivierbar). Klicken Sie dann auf „Optionen", „Eigenschaften"
und „Aufnahme".
Kontrollieren Sie, ob ein Häkchen bei „Mikrofon" gesetzt ist und klicken Sie auf „OK". Nun können Sie beim
Mikrofoneingang das Häkchen bei „Auswählen" setzen und die Mikrofonlautstärke bzw. den Aufnahme-
pegel einstellen.
Mit dem bei Windows integrierten Audiorecorder (bei Windows XP unter Start > Programme > Zubehör
> Unterhaltungsmedien > Audiorecorder) können einfache Aufnahmeversuche gemacht werden, um den
Mikrofonpegel richtig einzustellen bzw. um zu überprüfen, ob die Einstellungen in der Systemsteuerung
richtig vorgenommen worden sind.
Entsorgung

Entsorgen Sie das Produkt am Ende seiner Lebensdauer gemäß den geltenden gesetzli-
chen Bestimmungen.

Prescribed Use
The product is designed to be connected to a USB port of a computer. It serves as external sound card;
a headset with 3.5mm jack plugs can be connected to it (socket for headphone and socket for microphone
available).

Installation of the driver
Switch your computer on and wait until the operating system is completely booted.
Connect the USB Headset-Converter to a free USB port of the computer. The operating system recognizes
the new hardware and installs the driver automatically (contained in the operating system; therefore, no data
carrier is included).
If your computer already has a sound card (for eg. Onboard Sound of the Mainboard), you can switch, in
Windows XP in the control panel between the sound card and the USB Headset-Converter (control panel
> Sounds and audio devices > Audio).
Connection and operation
Connect the two connectors of the Headset to the corresponding sockets on the USB Headset-Converter
(e.g. observe headphone and microphone symbol on the plugs of the Headset or the sockets of the USB
Headset-Converter).
Otherwise, neither the microphone, nor the headphones will function.
The button on the USB Headset-Converter serves the "Muting" of the microphone, i.e. to mute the
microphone. The LED beside the button blinks when the mute function is activated.
Regulating the volume of the headphone is possible, as usual, via the volume regulation at the computer
(panel control). The same applies to the microphone.
Tips & notes
• Under DOS or in the protected mode of Windows, USB does not function (or only in a limited way for USB
keyboard/mouse). The USB Headset-Converter can not be used here.
• In the control panel choose the correct sound card (internal sound card or Onboard Sound or the USB
Headset-Converter).
After the connection of the USB Headset-Converter to the computer, this is normally activated
automatically.
• The microphone input must be activated first. With Windows XP, this is effected in the control panel
(control panel > sounds and audio devices > volume, then in the field "device volume" click on "upgrade"
The volume adjustment appears (if necessary activate it via the volume symbol in the menu bar). Click
on "Options" "characteristics" and "Recording".
Check if a checkmark was entered by "microphone" and click on "OK". You can now enter the checkmark
by "Select" at the microphone entry and adjust the microphone volume or the volume of the recording.
Recording tests can be effected with the audio recorder integrated in Windows (with Windows XP under
Start > Programs > Accessories > Entertainment media > audio recorder) in order to correctly adjust the
volume level of the microphone and to check if the adjustments in the control panel were correctly effected.
