Changing the battery

The Osia 2 Sound Processor uses high power 675 (PR44) zinc air disposable
batteries designed for hearing implant use.
Hold the sound processor with the cover facing upwards.
1
Open the battery door until it is completely open.
2
Remove the old battery. Dispose of the battery according to local
3
regulations.
Remove the new battery from the pack. Remove the sticker on the + side
of the new battery and let it stand for a few seconds.
Insert the new battery with the + sign facing upwards in the battery door.
4
Gently close the battery door until it is completely closed.
5
CAUTION: The sound processor must only be powered by a high
power 675 (PR44) Zinc-Air battery for hearing implant use. If a
standard 675 battery is used, the device will not function.
Locking the battery door
You can lock the battery door to prevent it from opening accidentally
(tamper-proof). This is recommended when the sound processor is being used
by a child. To lock the battery door, close the battery door completely and
place the Tamperproof tool into the battery door slot. Slide the locking pin up.
To unlock the battery door, place the Tamperproof tool into the battery door
slot. Slide the locking pin down into place.
Identification for bilateral users
You can use coloured stickers (red for right, blue for left) to make identifying
left and right processors easier. The identification markers are placed on the
bottom of the magnet prior to inserting it into the device and will be visible
through the transparent bottom of the sound processor.
Connecting the programming cable
For programming the Osia 2 Sound Processor the Cochlear Programming
cable CS45 is used. To attach the programming cable, the cover needs to
be removed or replaced with the programming cover. When attaching the
programming cable to the sound processor, align the dot on the cable with
the dot on the programming cover prior to inserting the cable.
NOTE: During programming mode, interference from nearby
electrical devices may disrupt communications between the sound
processor and the PC. If this occurs, the connection status icon on
the screen will inform the clinician of a loss of communications. The
clinician must then reconnect in the same programming session in
order to resume communication with the sound processor.
