Infrastructure (AP): Infrastructure access
In Infrastructure mode, computers with WLAN network adapters, also
known as WLAN clients, are connected to an existing network using a
WLAN router or access point .
Configuring network name (SSID)
Each WLAN network has a configurable network name (network iden-
tifier) or "SSID" (Service Set Identifier) in order to be able to unambigu-
ously identify the wireless network .
■ Press the Enter button to proceed to the next step .
■ Press the RETURN key to abort the setting .
■ Press the Goto button to refresh the SSID list .
The abbreviations in the column SECURITY of the SSID list have the
following meaning:
– WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) and WPA (Wi-Fi Protected
Access) indicate that a network is encrypted and that a pass-
word is necessary in order to be able to access the network .
– NONE indicates that a network is freely accessible (non-
encrypted) .
