Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Produkt ist zum Betrieb in einem ExpressCard-Einschub eines Notebooks vorgesehen und
ermöglicht dort den Betrieb einer Cardbus-Karte.
Dieses Produkt erfüllt die gesetzlichen, nationalen und europäischen Anforderungen. Alle ent-

Einsetzen einer Cardbus-Karte; Einstecken des Adapters
• Schieben Sie zuerst die Cardbus-Karte (z.B. eine Cardbus-Netzwerkkarte o.ä.) in den
Einschub des Adapters, achten Sie auf die richtige Orientierung. Wenden Sie beim Einsetzen
keine Gewalt an!
• Stecken Sie danach den ExpressCard-Cardbus-Adapter mit der darin eingestecken Cardbus-
Karte in den ExpressCard-Einschub Ihres Notebooks. Wenden Sie auch hier keine Gewalt an,
der Adapter muss sich leicht einschieben und einrasten lassen. Nur eine Orientierung ist richtig!
Wenn Ihr Computer über mehrere ExpressCard-Einschübe verfügt, so ist es unerheblich, wel-
chen davon Sie verwenden.
Wenn Sie zuerst den ExpressCard-Adapter in den Notebook stecken und erst danach
die Cardbus-Karte einstecken, dann kann es dazu kommen, dass die Cardbus-Karte
nicht erkannt wird!
• Windows erkennt evtl. neue Hardware; halten Sie die Treiber zu Ihrer Cardbus-Karte bereit,
sofern dieser welche beiliegen.
Der ExpressCard-Adapter selbst benötigt keinen Treiber!
Tipps und Hinweise
• Ältere PC-Cards (16bit) laufen nicht in dem ExpressCard-Adapter. Solche Karten werden vom
Adapter bzw. von Windows nicht erkannt.
• Wenn Sie den ExpressCard-Adapter bzw. die Cardbus-Karte herausziehen, und es laufen
gerade Datenübertragungen (z.B. über eine Cardbus-Netzwerkkarte), so kann es zu
Datenverlust kommen.
• Zum Auswerfen des ExpressCard-Adapters ist dieser in der Regel ein kleines Stück in den
ExpressCard-Einschub zu drücken, wodurch sich die Verriegelung löst. Danach kann der
ExpressCard-Adapter mit der darin befindlichen Cardbus-Karte herausgezogen werden.
Beachten Sie die Anleitung zu Ihrem Notebook, wie eine ExpressCard-Steckkarte eingesetzt
bzw. entfernt werden kann.
Entsorgung
Elektrische/elektronische Geräte gehören nicht in den Hausmüll.
Entsorgen Sie das Produkt am Ende seiner Lebensdauer gemäß den geltenden
gesetzlichen Bestimmungen.

The product is designed for operation in an ExpressCard slot of a Notebook and enables the
operation of a Cardbus card.

Insertion of a cardbus card; plugging in the adapter
• Fist insert the cardbus card (e.g. a cardbus network card or similar) into the adapter slot, pay
attention to the correct orientation. Do not use force when plugging in!
• Afterwards plug the ExpressCard Cardbus adapter, with the inserted cardbus card, into the
ExpressCard slot of your Notebook. Do not apply any force, the adapter should be inserted and
snapped in smoothly. Only one orientation is correct!
If you computer has several ExpressCard slots, it is not important which one of them you use.
• Windows will probably recognize the new hardware; if provided, keep your Cardbus card drivers
ready.
Tips and Instructions
• Older PC cards (16 bit) do not work with the ExpressCard adapter. Such cards are not recog-
nized by the adapter or by Windows.
• If you unplug the Expresscard adapter or the Cardbus card during data transfers (e. g. via a
Cardbus network card), you can cause data loss.
• To eject the ExpressCard adapter, it usually has to be pushed slightly into the ExpressCard
slot which releases the lock. The ExpressCard adapter with the inserted Cardbus card can
then be removed.
Please observe your Notebook's instructions on how the ExpressCard plug-in card is inserted
and removed.

If you first connect the ExpressCard adapter to your Notebook and afterwards insert
the Cardbus card, the card might not be recognized!
The ExpressCard adapter itself does not need a driver!
Electrical and electronic products do not belong to the household waste!
When the product is no longer usable, dispose of it in accordance with the applicable
statutory regulations.
