Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Produkt dient zum Betrieb einer CompactFlash-Speicherkarte (CF) an einem 40/80- oder 44poligen IDE-
Kabel.
Das bedeutet, dass mit dem Produkt eine CF-Speicherkarte wie eine herkömmliche IDE-/ATA-Festplatte
verwendet werden kann.
Alle enthaltenen Firmennamen und Produktbezeichnungen sind Warenzeichen der jeweiligen Inhaber. Alle
Rechte vorbehalten.

Einbau
Falls Sie keine Fachkenntnisse für den Einbau besitzen, so lassen Sie den Einbau
von einer FACHKRAFT oder einer entsprechenden Fachwerkstatt durchführen!
Durch unsachgemäßsen Einbau wird sowohl der Adapter als auch Ihr Computer und
alle angeschlossenen Geräte beschädigt.
Vorsicht, Lebensgefahr!
Schalten Sie den Computer, in den der Adapter eingebaut werden soll und alle
angeschlossenen Geräte aus und trennen Sie alle Geräte von der Netzspannung,
ziehen Sie den Netzstecker! Das Ausschalten über den Ein-/Ausschalter genügt
nicht!
• Öffnen Sie das Gehäuse Ihres Computers und nehmen Sie den Gehäusedeckel vorsichtig ab.
• Wählen Sie auf der Adapterkarte mittels der Steckbrücke ("Jumper") die Einstellung "Master" oder
"Slave".
Falls Sie ein Betriebssystem von der in der Adapterkarte eingesteckten Speicherkarte laden wol-
len, sollten Sie die Einstellung "Master" wählen (abhängig vom verwendeten Mainboard/BIOS).
• Verbinden Sie die Adapterkarte mit einem 40/80- oder 44poligen Anschlusskabel, das zu einem IDE-
Controller führt. 44polige Anschlusskabel werden z.B. in Notebooks oder bei speziellen Mini-Mainboards
verwendet. Pin 1 ist auf der Platine markiert.
• Wird ein 40/80poliges Flachbandkabel verwendet, so ist ein 3.5"-Stromstecker an den entsprechenden
Anschluss der Platine anzustecken.
Bei einem 44poligen Flachbandkabel sind die Stromleitungen im Flachbandkabel bereits enthalten, las-
sen Sie den 3.5"-Stromanschluss frei!
• Montieren Sie die Platine im Gehäuse so, dass sie keine Kurzschlüsse auslösen kann.
• Stecken Sie eine CF-Speicherkarte in den Slot der Adapterkarte ein, nur eine Orientierung ist korrekt.
Wenden Sie keine Gewalt an.
• Verschließen Sie das Gehäuse Ihres Computers.
• Verbinden Sie Ihren Computer (und alle anderen Geräte) wieder mit der Netzspannung und schalten Sie
ihn ein.
• Startet Ihr Computer nicht korrekt, so schalten Sie ihn sofort aus und kontrollieren Sie sämtliche
Einstellungen und Kabelverbindungen.
Vor dem erneuten Öffnen des PCs ist der PC von der Netzspannung zu trennen, siehe oben!
Treiber-Installation
Es ist keinerlei Treiber-Installation erforderlich! Die CF-Speicherkarte (bzw. eine CF-Festplatte, z.B.
Microdrive) verhält sich mit der Adapterkarte wie eine übliche IDE-/ATA-Festplatte.
Betrieb
Die von Ihnen eingesteckte CF-Karte kann wie eine Festplatte auch partitioniert, formatiert und ggf. mit
einem Betriebssystem versehen werden.
Bei Verwendung einer entsprechend großen CF-Karte ist beispielsweise die Installation von Windows XP
möglich.
Bitte beachten Sie, dass die Zugriffszeiten und auch die Geschwindigkeit der Datenübertragung bei CF-
Karten (auch bei schnellen Versionen) viel niedriger ist als bei herkömmlichen Festplatten.
Ziehen Sie niemals die Speicherkarte bei eingeschaltetem Computer heraus! Die Adapterkarte ist kein
Wechseldatenträgerlaufwerk! Schalten Sie zuerst den Computer aus und trennen Sie ihn von der
Netzspannung!
Entsorgung
Entsorgen Sie das Produkt am Ende seiner Lebensdauer gemäß den geltenden gesetzlichen

Intended use
This product is designed to operate a CompactFlash memory card (CF) on a 40/80 or 44 pin IDE cable.
This means that this product enables you to use a CF memory card like a conventional IDE/ATA hard disk.

• Adapter card connectable to a 40/80 or 44 pin flat cable in a computer; this must be connected to a
corresponding IDE controller

Installation
•
Open the housing of your computer and remove the cover carefully.
• On the adapter card, select the setting "Master" or "Slave" using the jumper.
• Connect the adapter card to a 40/80 or 44 pin connection cable that leads to an IDE controller. 44 pin
connection cables are used in, for example, notebooks or special mini mainboards. Pin 1 is marked on the
circuit board.
• If using a 40/80 pin flat cable, connect a 3.5" power plug to the corresponding circuit board.
The power lines are already contained in a 44 pin flat cable. Leave the 3.5" power connection unoccu-
pied.
• Mount the circuit board in the housing in such a way that it cannot cause a short circuit.
• Plug a CF memory card in the slot for the adapter card. It will only fit in one way. Do not exert any force.
• Close the housing of your computer.
• Reconnect your computer (and all other devices) to the mains power supply and switch it on again.
• If your computer does not start correctly, switch it off immediately and check all settings and cable con-
nections.
Installing drivers
No driver installation is necessary. With the adapter card, the CF memory card (or a CF hard disk, e.g.
Microdrive) functions like a common IDE/ATA hard disk.
Operation
The CF card you plugged in can be partitioned, formatted and optionally provided with a operating system,
just like a hard disk.
When using an appropriately large CF card, it is possible, for example. to install Windows XP.
Please keep in mind that access time and also the speed of data transfer with CF cards (even with faster
versions) are much lower than with conventional hard disks.
Never remove the memory card when the computer is switched on. The adapter card is not a removable
data storage drive. Firstly switch off the computer and disconnect it from the mains power supply.

If you have no specialist knowledge of installation procedures, arrange for the
installation to be carried out by a SPECIALIST or an appropriate specialist shop.
Incorrect installation can cause damage both to the adapter and to your computer
and all connected devices.
Caution: risk of fatal injury!
Switch off the computer in which the adapter is to be installed and all connected
devices. Disconnect all devices from the mains supply by pulling out the mains
power plug. Switching off using the on/off switch is not enough.
If you want to load an operating system from the memory card plugged in the adapter card you
should select "Master" (depending on the used mainboard/BIOS).
Before opening the PC again, disconnect the PC from the mains power supply. See above.
When the product has become unusable, dispose of it in accordance with the applicable statutory
regulations.
