Purpose of the Installation and Operating Instructions

These present Installation and Operating Instructions describe the
proper operation of the KS clamping cartridge. Detailed information
is given how the KS cartridge is mounted in the spindle or adapter
and how the clamping of a tool is carried out with the KS cartridge.
KS cartridges are available as standard, MQL and high pressure.

In addition, the most important safety instructions on handling the
KS clamping cartridge are explained. Section 5 contains a detailed
description of the individual functions and actions necessary to suc-
cessfully install and clamp the KS clamping cartridge.
The installation and operating instructions form an integral part of
the KS clamping cartridge and must be kept in the immediate vi-
cinity of the KS clamping cartridge where it is accessible to the per-
sonnel at all times. A basic precondition for safe working is compli-
ance with all the safety precautions and instructions for working
given in these installation and operating instructions.
The local safety at work regulations and the general safety regula-
tions for the field of application of the replaceable head drill must
also be observed. Illustrations in these installation and operating in-
structions are provided for general understanding and may differ
from the actual design.
