Mounting Instructions

ATTENTION:
When using the adjustable joint, Viewguard
detectors as per EN 50131-2-x grade 3 are
downgraded to grade 2!
1. Cable entry / tension relief

A cable entry from above
B cable entry from behind
C puncture if needed for cable entry and swivel range of the detector
1 fastening holes for wall mounting
2 fastening holes for wall mounting 45° or corner mounting
3 counter holder
4 brace

5 spherical segment
6 counter support punched
7 counter support not punched
The cable can be led through the adjustable joint into the
detector.
In doing so attention is to be paid to the following:
Whether the cable is led pass the brace on the right hand side
or the left hand side, depends on the later horizontal setting
position of the detector. After choosing the cable run the joint
is limited in its horizontal adjustability.
Enter the cable into the wall mounting on the same side that it
passes the brace.
- Detector is in mid-position:
right or left
- Detector faces to the left:
Puncture counter support on the right (fig. 2 (C), fig. 3),
Cable run passes the brace on the left
- Detector faces to the right:
Puncture counter support on the left (fig. 2 (C), fig. 3),
Cable run passes the brace on the right
Tension relief follows as a result of cable joints where the
cables are pulled tight on the bottom part of the housing. The
cable joints are pulled through the slots provided in the bottom
housing component (see detector installation instructions).
2. Mounting
(fig. 4)
ATTENTION:
Please pay attention to the following steps
concerning wall mounting, that both vertical slots
are situated on the left hand side (see fig. 2).

Fastened with 2 screws through the indicated holes on the
right or left hand inclined side (fig.

2.3
Fastening holes as 2.2. In fastening the adjustable joint with 4
screws there is a danger of causing tension. To avoid this,
fixing 2 screws on the one side is sufficient. Distance between
hole and corner 35 mm.
3. Mounting detector onto adjustable

1 wall mounting

3 spherical segment
4 bottom part of detektor
5 terminal screw M4
6 terminal foil
7 brace with M4 thread
Place spherical segment onto the bottom part of the housing
as in the illustration 5.
In doing so pay attention to the scale positioning. The spherical
segment can only be fixed as in the illustrated position.
Now the bottom part of the detector together with the spherical
segment is screwed with the brace.
Take care that the brace does not happen to be in a horizontal
position by mistake.
4. Detector adjustment
On the basis of mirror optics precision, an exact alignment of
the detector is to be carried out as this is very important for
long ranges. Insufficient adjustment leads to range reduction.
A guide to help adjusting the inclination is positioned on the
adjustable joint in the form of a scale (from +4° to -8°, one
graduation = 2°, long graduation = 0°).
If you read the chapter "beam characteristics" in the detector
installation instructions it will help you with the adjustment.
Once the bottom component is aligned, the terminal screw is
then screwed tight.
Finally carry out a walk test . If necessary, alter the adjustment.
