New Petzl standard for lighting performance.
Petzl has developed a new method for determining lighting distance
and duration.
Our study found that the minimum amount of light required
for satisfactory vision is 0.25 lux. We have thus based all our
measurements around this value, which is comparable to the light of
a full moon on a clear night.
To help you know your lamp better we measured the lighting distance
at:
Time = 0 (lamp at maximum capacity)
Time = 0 h 30 (common interval of use).
Time = 10 h (all-night use)
Petzl defi nes a usable light source as one that provides at least 0.25
lux at a distance of 2 m; this is the minimum amount of light required
for effi cient movement in the dark. We stop measuring a lamp's burn
time (light duration) when its light output falls below this minimum
level.

All of the lamps in the MYOLITE range conform to the requirements
of the 89/336/CEE directive on electromagnetic compatibility.
MYOLITE
Single light source : xenon halogen.
To increase the burn time of this single light source lamp, you can
replace the Xenon halogen bulb with the standard bulb, which is less
powerful but more energy-effi cient (see table).
MYOLITE 3
Two light sources : xenon halogen + 3 LED, non-regulated.
The 3 LEDs are « non-regulated » for 1 level of energy-effi cient
lighting.
Switching on & off, brightness selection, zooming
A twist of the bezel on your MYOLITE turns it on/off and adjusts
the focus of the beam from spot to fl ood (zooming). For MYOLITE
lights with LEDs, the bezel is also used to select either the LEDs or
the Xenon halogen beam. From the « off » position, turning the bezel
lights the LEDs fi rst for energy-effi cient proximity lighting, then the
Xenon halogen bulb for powerful long-range lighting.
Unlocking/locking the bezel
Your MYOLITE will not work when the bezel is locked. To unlock it, tilt
the headpiece forward until the pin comes out of the notch. Take care
to lock the bezel when the MYOLITE is not in use (see diagram). If
the light accidentally turns on in your pack, the heat produced by the
Xenon halogen bulb can damage the lamp.
Batteries
Install AA/LR6 alkaline batteries as shown in the diagram. Do not mix
brands of batteries, or new batteries with used.
Warning : defective or fully discharged batteries, or water in the
battery case can damage the lamp (oxidation of the contacts).
The burn time of your lamp will be considerably reduced when the
(alkaline) batteries are cold. The LEDs often give better light than the
Xenon halogen bulb when the batteries are cold or low.
Replacing a bulb
To reomve the bezel, unscrew to the rim, being careful not to force
the unit.
Beware of burning your fi ngers on the Xenon bulb.
In case of malfunction
Make sure the batteries are good, and that they are properly installed
with respect to their polarity. If the polarity is simply reversed in the
battery case, the Xenon bulb will work but the LED's will not. Follow
the order and position as indicated on the battery case. Remove
and re-install the bulb. Try the spare bulb. Check the contacts for
corrosion. If corroded, gently scrape the contacts clean without
bending them.
If your lamp still doesn't work, contact PETZL After-Sales Service.
Maintenance
After use in a humid environment, remove the batteries, the bezel, and
the bulb. Allow the lamp to dry thoroughly, keeping the battery case,
bezel, and headpiece open. Water in the headpiece or battery case can
cause the lamp to malfunction. The LEDs cannot be dismantled. LEDs
have a very long life and do not require service.
The PETZL guarantee
This product is guaranteed for 3 years against all faults in materials or
manufacture. Exclusions from the guarantee : normal wear and tear,
modifi cations or alterations, incorrect storage, damage caused by
accidents, by negligence, by leaking batteries or by use for which this
product is not intended.
Responsibility
PETZL is not responsible for the consequences, whether direct,
indirect or accidental, or for any other type of damage arising or
resulting from the use of its products.

Nouveau référentiel Petzl de mesure des performances
d'éclairage.
Petzl élabore une méthode de mesure pour déterminer les distances
d'éclairage et l'autonomie (durée d'éclairage).
Nous considérons que la valeur de lumière minimum à laquelle la
vision est satisfaisante est 0,25 lux. Nous réalisons donc toutes nos
mesures à 0,25 lux. Cette valeur est comparable à la clarté d'une nuit
de pleine lune.
Pour vous aider à mieux connaître votre lampe nous mesurons la
distance à :
Temps = 0 (capacité maximum de la lampe).
Temps = 0 h 30 (usage courant).
Temps = 10 heures (usage continu pendant une nuit).
Petzl considère qu'en dessous d'une lumière de 0,25 lux à une
distance de 2 m, une lampe n'est plus utilisable pour se déplacer.
Nous arrêtons la mesure de l'autonomie (durée d'éclairage) à la
distance de 2 m.

MYOLITE
Mono foyer zoom xénon halogène.
Pour cette lampe mono foyer, vous avez la possibilité d'augmenter
votre autonomie en remplaçant votre ampoule Xénon halogène par
l'ampoule standard moins puissante mais plus économique (voir
tableau).
MYOLITE 3
Deux foyers : un foyer zoom xénon halogène et un foyer 3 LED non
régulé offrant un seul niveau d'éclairage très économique.
Allumer, éteindre,
sélectionner, zoomer
Une seule commande pour faire fonctionner votre MYOLITE, la
« bague optique », interrupteur et zoom. Pour les MYOLITE équipées
de LED, cette bague permet de sélectionner le foyer LED ou le foyer
Xénon halogène. Le foyer LED est sélectionné en premier pour un
éclairage de proximité utilisant peu d'énergie et en second le foyer
Xénon halogène, éclairage puissant. Le zoom permet de régler
l'éclairage Xénon halogène, faisceau « spot » éloigné ou faisceau
large.
Verrouillage (Lock)
Prendre soin de verrouiller la bague optique. Si votre lampe reste
accidentellement allumée dans un sac de transport, la chaleur
dégagée par l'ampoule Xénon Halogène peut endommager la lampe.
Piles
Utilisez des piles alcalines. Ne pas mélanger des piles de marques
différentes, des piles neuves avec des piles usagées.
Attention, des piles défectueuses, fortement déchargées ou de
l'eau dans le boîtier peuvent endommager la lampe (oxydation des
contacts...).
L'autonomie des piles alcalines baisse considérablement à basse
température. Au froid ou lorsque les piles sont usées, le foyer LED
peut éclairer plus que le foyer Xénon Halogène.
Remplacer une ampoule
Pour enlever la bague optique, dévissez jusqu'au cran, n'hésitez pas
à forcer.
Attention à ne pas vous brûler les doigts avec l'ampoule Xénon.
En cas de dysfonctionnement
Vérifi ez les piles et le respect de leur polarité. Si la polarité est
simplement inversée dans le boîtier piles, l'ampoule Xénon fonctionne
mais les LED ne fonctionnent pas. Suivez l'ordre indiqué sur le boîtier.
Retirez et replacez l'ampoule. Testez avec l'ampoule de rechange.
Vérifi ez l'absence de corrosion sur les contacts. En cas de corrosion,
grattez légèrement les contacts sans les déformer.
Si votre lampe ne fonctionne toujours pas, contactez le Service Après
Vente PETZL.
Entretien
Le foyer LED n'est pas démontable Les LED ont une durée de vie très
longue. De l'eau dans la bague optique ou le boîtier à piles peut créer
un dysfonctionnement. Après utilisation en milieu humide, retirez les
piles, la bague optique et l'ampoule. Séchez intégralement (bague
optique et boîtier ouverts).
Garantie PETZL
Ce produit est garanti pendant 3 ans contre tout défaut de matière
ou de fabrication. Limite de la garantie : l'usure normale, les
modifi cations ou retouches, le mauvais stockage, les dommages dus
aux accidents, aux négligences, aux piles qui coulent, aux utilisations
pour lesquelles ce produit n'est pas destiné.

PETZL n'est pas responsable des conséquences directes, indirectes,
accidentelles ou de tout autre type de dommages survenus ou

Der neue Referenzstandard von Petzl zum Messen der
Leistung von Stirnlampen.
Petzl hat eine Methode entwickelt, um Leuchtweite und Betriebsdauer
zu ermitteln (die Leuchtdauer der Lampe).
Wir betrachten 0,25 lx (Lux) als die mindestens erforderliche
Beleuchtungsstärke, bei der die Sicht befriedigend ist. Alle
unsere Messungen werden daher bei 0,25 lx durchgeführt.
Diese Beleuchtungsstärke entspricht ungefähr der einer klaren
Vollmondnacht.
Um Sie mit den Eigenschaften Ihrer Stirnlampe vertraut zu machen,
messen wir die Leuchtweite nach :
Zeit = 0 (maximale Kapazität der Lampe).
Zeit = 0 Std 30 minutes (Standardgebrauch).
Zeit = 10 Std (fortlaufende Verwendung während einer Nacht).
Petzl geht davon aus, dass eine Lampe nicht mehr zur Fortbewegung
verwendet werden kann, sobald die Beleuchtungsstärke bei einer
Leuchtweite von 2 Metern unter 0,25 lx sinkt.
Wir beenden also die Messung der Leuchtdauer bei einer Entfernung
von 2 Metern.

Alle Stirnlampen der MYOLITE Serie entsprechen den
Anforderungen der Europäischen Richtlinie 89/336/CEE betreffend
elektromagnetischer Verträglichkeit.
MYOLITE
Einfacher Lichtstrahl mit Zoom Funktion und Xenon Halogenbirne.
Für diese Lampe mit einfachem Lichtstrahl ist auch eine
Standardbirne (statt der Xenon Halogen) erhältlich, die weniger
Energie verbraucht. Siehe Tabelle.
MYOLITE 3
Zwei Lichtquellen : Zoom Funktion mit Xenon Halogenbirne, sowie
3 LED.
Die 3 LED Lichtquelle ist nicht einstellbar. Sie bietet eine
Helligkeitsstufe, die sehr sparsam im Verbrauch ist.
Ein- und Ausschalten, Auswahl, Zoom
Ein einziger Schalter erfüllt alle Funktionen : der 'optische Ring'Für
diejenigen MYOLITE, die mit LED ausgestattet sind, kann mit diesem
Ring auch zwischen LED und Xenon Halogen umgeschaltet werden.
Die LED Lichtquelle dient zum Ausleuchten der näheren Umgebung
bei geringem Energieverbrauch. Xenon Halogen hingegen bietet
kräftiges Fernlicht, bei höherem Verbrauch. Mit der Zoom Funktion
kann der Xenon Halogenstrahl gebündelt oder erweitert werden.
Verriegelung (Lock)
Denken Sie daran, Ihre MYOLITE zu verriegeln, denn beim
versehentlichen Brennenlassen z.B. im Rucksack könnte sich die von
der Xenon Halogenbirne ausgehende Wärme stauen und der Refl ektor
beschädigt werden.
Batterien
Verwenden Sie Alkalibatterien. Mischen Sie nicht die Batterien
unterschiedlicher Hersteller, und auch nicht neue mit alten Batterien.
Achtung, defekte oder komplett entladene Batterien und Wasser
im Batteriefach können die Lampe beschädigen (Oxydation der
Kontakte...).
Die Lebensdauer von Alkalizellen reduziert sich erheblich unter
Kälteeinwirkung. In kalter Umgebung, oder wenn die Batterien schon
etwas entladen sind, kann die LED Lichtquelle heller sein als die
Xenon Halogen.
Auswechseln einer Birne
Um den Refl ektor abzunehmen, drehen Sie diesen entgegen dem
Uhrzeigersinn bis über den Anschlag heraus. Achtung verbrennen Sie
sich nicht die Finger an der Xenon Birne.
Bei Fehlfunktion
Überprüfen Sie die Batterien, und ob nicht Plus und Minus vertauscht
sind. Ist dies der Fall, so funktioniert zwar die Xenon Beleuchtung,
die LED's jedoch nicht. Legen Sie die Batterien ein, wie es auf
dem Batteriekasten aufgezeichnet ist. Wechseln Sie die Birne
aus (Ersatzbirne im Lieferumfang enthalten). Sind die Kontakte
korrodiert ? Wenn ja : kratzen Sie vorsichtig, um die Kontakte nicht zu
verbiegen. Falls Ihre Lampe immer noch nicht funktioniert, wenden
Sie sich an den Kundendienst von PETZL.
Wartung und Pfl ege
Die LED Lichtquelle ist fest montiert. Die LED haben eine sehr hohe
Lebensdauer. Wasser in der Optik oder Im Batteriefach kann die
Funktion beeinträchtigen. Nach Gebrauch in feuchter Umgebung
nehmen Sie die Batterien heraus, schrauben Sie den optischen Ring
ab, und die Birne heraus. Lassen Sie alles geöffnet komplett trocknen.
PETZL Garantie
Auf dieses Produkt gewähren wir 3 Jahre Garantie gegen sämtliche
Material- und Fabrikationsfehler. Garantieeinschränkung : Normaler
Verschleiß, Veränderungen oder Manipulationen, falsche Lagerung,
ausgelaufene Batterien, unfallbedingte Schäden, Schäden aufgrund
von Nachlässigkeit, sowie aufgrund einer Verwendung, für die das
Produkt nicht vorgesehen ist.
