Using the Software

<For CF-74 Series>
Install the software application contained in the Product Recovery DVD-ROM (supplied
with the computer): "DVD-RAM Driver"
To play a DVD-Video, use "WinDVD" preinstalled in the computer. For more informa-
tion, refer to the computer's reference manual and operating instructions.
<For CF-51 Series>
Install the software applications contained in the DVD Drive Utility Disc: "DVD-RAM
Driver", "WinDVD", "B's Recorder" and "B's CLiP".
Install "DVD-RAM Driver" before installing the other software applications.
The software applications other than "DVD-RAM Driver" may have already been in-
stalled at the time of shipment from the factory. Be sure to uninstall them and perform
installation from "DVD Drive Utility Disc" (included).
CAUTION
Do not install the software using a drive other than this drive. Be sure to insert this
drive into your computer, and then insert the disc for installation.
Close all other software application before running the Setup program for the soft-
ware applications for added safety.
Log on to Windows as an administrator.
NOTE
Depending on the computer, preparatory steps may be necessary before installation.
Before installing the application, be sure to read the Operating Instructions or Refer-
ence Manual of the computer.
<Only for CF-51 Series>

Before Installing the Software

1 Uninstall the following preinstalled software applications.
• B.H.A B's Recorder GOLD8 BASIC 8.∗∗
• B.H.A B's CLiP 6.∗∗
• InterVideo WinDVD
A Log on to Windows as an administrator.
B Click [start] - [Control Panel] - [Add or Remove Programs].
C Select the software and uninstall it by following the on-screen instructions.
D After uninstalling all of the above applications, restart the computer.
2 Insert the drive into the multimedia pocket. (
3 Right-click [(x:)]*
move the check mark for [Enable CD recording on this drive].
(Remove the check mark for [Enable CD recording on this drive] every time a new user is added.)
