Using the Drive

Inserting/Removing the Drive
For details on how to insert and remove the drive, refer to "Multimedia Pocket" in the
Reference Manual included with your computer.
Preparations
Windows 7
1 Click (Start) - [Computer] - [System properties] - [Device Manager].
2 Click [View] - [Devices by connection] - [ACPIx86-based PC] - [Microsoft ACPICom-
pliant System] - [PCIbus] - [Intel(R) ICH9M/M-E Family 4 Port SATA AHCI Control-
ler - 2929], double-click [ATA Channel 0], and click [Advanced Settings].
3 Confirm that the check mark has been added for [Enabled DMA]. If it has not, add the
check mark and click [OK].
Windows Vista
1 Click (Start) - [Control Panel] - [System and Maintenance] - [System] - [Device
Manager].
A standard user needs to enter an administrator password.
2 <Only for CF-30 C/D/E/F/G/J series>
Click [View] - [Devices by connection] - [ACPIx86-based PC] - [Microsoft ACPI-
Compliant System] - [PCIbus] - [Intel(R)82801G(ICH7 Family) Ultra ATA Storage
Controllers - 27DF], double-click [ATA channel 0], and click [Advanced Settings].

Click [View] - [Devices by connection] - [ACPIx86-based PC] - [Microsoft ACPI-
Compliant System] - [PCIbus] - [Intel(R) ICH9 Family PCI Express Root Port2 - 2942]
- [Standard Dual Cannel PCI IDE Controller], double-click [ATA channel 0], and click
[Advanced Settings].
3 Confirm that the check mark has been added for [Enabled DMA]. If it has not, add the
check mark and click [OK].
Windows XP
Confirm that [Transfer Mode] is set to [DMA if available] in [start] - [Control Panel] -
[Performance and Maintenance] - [System] - [Hardware] - [Device Manager] - [IDE ATA/
ATAPI controllers] - [Primary IDE Channel] - [Advanced Settings] - [Device 0]. Perform
this setting if it has not yet been made.
Setting a Disc

Turn on the computer.

Slide the latch (A) and open the
cover.

Press the eject button (B) and slowly
pull out the tray.
