First use or after a long period of disuse

NB: If the machine has a connection to the water supply, turn on the tap located up-
stream beforehand; this will automatically fi ll the tank when it is started. In this case,
go straight to installation step 5. See the label next to the connection for the water
supply on the back of the machine, to check the maximum tolerated pressure.
1. Lift the tank lid and place it in the rear part (Fig.1)
2. Lift the handle and pull out the tank (Fig.2)
3. Fill the tank with fresh, non-carbonated water (Fig.3); to top-up, the tank can be left in
place, pouring the water inside (Fig.4).
4. Put the tank back, making sure it is fully inserted, and refi t the cover.
5. Make sure the plug is properly inserted in the socket.
6. Turn the machine on by setting the main switch to "I".
7. Wait for the machine to complete the water circuit fi lling cycle.
8. Wait for the machine to stop heating the coff ee unit; do not insert a capsule. When it
has fi nished, all the buttons will remain steadily lit.
9. Raise the lever (P) to open the capsule compartment (Fig.5).
10. Insert a "cleaning" capsule supplied (Fig.6).
11. Close the lever (P) fully (Fig.7).
12. Place a large container (at least 250 ml) under the coff ee dispenser (Fig.11).
13. Press the button (A). Wait for the machine to fi nish dispensing. Empty the container.
14. Raise the lever (P) to eject the "cleaning" capsule (Fig.5). Close the lever (P) (Fig.7).
15. Pull out the used capsule drawer and remove the "cleaning" capsule (Fig.12).
Reinsert the drawer.
NB: The "cleaning" capsule can be used several times while it is still intact. In case
of loss or depletion of the "cleaning" capsule supplied, an old capsule can be used
after emptying it.
A new "cleaning" capsule can be purchased at Caffi taly shops.
• Fill the tank with non-carbonated fresh water (Fig.3).
• Turn the machine on by setting the main switch to "I".
• The display shows the various machine phases. Wait until it is ready to use.
