4. Batteries
Insert two AA-batteries of 1.5V. Numbers appear on the LCD and the device beeps for 2 seconds. Respect the
applicable local laws when disposing of your old batteries!
5. Setting the Calendar, the Clock and the Display Language
a. DCF77 Signal
The device automatically starts scanning for the DCF signal as soon as the batteries have been installed and this
process can last anywhere from 3 to 5 minutes. Reception of the DCF signal may be interrupted sometimes. If this
happens you should hold the WAVE button for 3 seconds in order to make the device scan for the DCF signal again.
Reception will take 3 to 5 minutes.
When the DCF signal is received, the date and time are automatically adjusted and the DCF symbol for '"good
reception" (
) appears on the display.
The user will have to set the clock manually if the device is unable to receive the DCF signal.
Remark : The controls may not respond when you try to set the clock manually. Remove and reinsert the batteries
if this happens.
b. Selecting the Display Mode
Press MODE once in the normal display mode to display ALARM 1 in the bottom right-hand corner. Press MODE
again to display ALARM 2. Press again to display DUAL TIME (second time zone) and press once more to display
the temperature in the normal display mode).
c. Setting the Clock & Calendar Manually
Hold the MODE button for three seconds (until the digits for the hours start to flash) in the normal display mode.
Enter the hours with the + or - button and confirm with MODE. The digits for the minutes start to flash. Enter the
minutes with + or – and confirm with MODE. The digits for the year start to flash. Enter the year with + or – and
confirm with MODE. The digits for the month start to flash. Enter the month with + or – and confirm with MODE. The
digits for the date start to flash. Enter the date with + or – and confirm with MODE. The device now returns to the
normal display mode.
d. Setting the Display Language
Hold the – button in the normal display mode to select the display language. The languages are displayed in this
order : English (EN EN EN EN), German (GE GE GE GE), Italian (IT IT IT IT), French (FR FR FR FR), Spanish (SP SP SP SP), English (EN EN EN EN), etc. Release the button when
the language of your choice appears.

6. Setting the Alarm

Press MODE repeatedly in the normal display mode until ALARM 1 is displayed in the bottom right-hand corner. Hold
MODE until the digits for the hours start to flash. Enter the hours with + or – and confirm them with MODE. The digits
for the minutes start to flash. Enter the minutes with + or – and confirm with MODE. Alarm time 1 has now been set,
as indicated by the
