Adding to the System
The HP BASIC Controller may require additional hardware for your particular
application. For example, you may need printed or plotted output. You may
need to expand the memory of your HP Language Processor or add interfaces
to allow it to communicate with your equipment. The software you use will
help determine which accessories and peripherals are right for your system.
If you have internal accessories that you want to install, or if you have
peripherals that you want to connect, refer to the manuals that came
with them (or to Setting Up Your Vectra). Be sure to record your system
information on the inventory foldout pages found in the Setting Up Your Vectra
manual.
If you add a second disk drive, memory, or other internal enhancement to your
controller, you must update the controller's configuration information. To
update the configuration information:
1. Find the Setup Disk-it's packed in the Setting Up Your Vectra binder.
2. Insert the Setup Disk into drive A: (the top drive).
3. Type
a:setup [Enter]
4. Follow the displayed instructions to set the "system configuration." See
the Controller Checklist sheet to determine the factory hardware. See the
Setting Up Your Vectra binder for detailed information about the SETUP
program.
The following table contains several types of accessories and peripherals that
may be appropriate for your application.
