What to do if...
MESSAGE MEANING
FILL TANK! Th e water tank is empty or
not properly in place.
Th e water tank is dirty or
limescale deposits have built
up inside it.
GROUND TOO FINE Coff ee comes out too slowly.

HOT WATER KEY
Th e coff ee machine cannot
make any coff ee.
EMPTY WASTE COFFEE Th e waste coff ee container is
CONTAINER full.
INSERT WASTE COFFEE Th e waste coff ee container
CONTAINER was not replaced after
cleaning.
ADD PRE-GROUND No ground coff ee was put
COFFEE into the fi lling chute after
selecting the preground coff ee
function.
FILL BEAN CONTAINER Th ere are no more coff ee
beans in the coff ee bean
container.
If the mill mechanism starts
sounding very loud, this can
mean that a small stone from
the coff ee beans has blocked
the mill mechanism.

WHAT TO DO
Fill the water tank and insert
it according to instructions,
page 8 (fi g. 1).
Rinse out or descale the water
tank.
Turn the knob for the grind
level setting clockwise by one
position (see 5.2.4 on
page 14).
Place a container underneath
the hot water nozzle and press
the "hot water" button .
Empty, clean and replace
the waste coff ee container as
described on page 12.
Open the service door
and insert the waste coff ee
container.
Add ground coff ee as
described in 5.2.5 on page 14
and 15.
Fill the coff ee bean container,.
Consult customer services.

PLEASE DESCALE! Shows that the coff ee machine
is encrusted with limescale.
CLOSE DOOR Th e service door is open.
INSERT BREWING Someone probably forgot to

GENERAL ALARM! Th e inside of the machine is
very dirty.

WHAT TO DO
Th e descaling programme
must be carried out as soon as
possible (see 6.2.5 on page 26
and 27.
Close the service door. If the
service door cannot be closed,
make sure that the brewing
unit is correctly inserted (see
6.1.2 on page 21, 22 and 23).
Insert the brewing unit, (see
6.1.2 on page 21, 22 and 23).
Carefully clean the inside
of the machine (see 6.1.1
on page 21). If the coff ee
machine still shows this
message once it has been
cleaned, please consult
customer services.
