Weighing range
Change of batteries
Remove the battery cover at the bottom of the balance cover in the sense of arrow.
Insert 3 round cell batteries, for instance Duracell LR, that the vaulted side shows inside, e. g. to the internal of the
balance and the labelled flat side upwards to the battery cover.
Re-insert the battery cover.
When battery power is becoming less, the display will show alternately "LO" and the just measured weight. Press the
OFF-key and change batteries at once.
To save battery power the balance turns off automatically after the terminated weighing procedure.
Weighing
Set up the balance on a horizontal stable base.
Press ON/TARE-key.
The balance will show "8888" for approx. 2 sec. In the
display and change then to "0". Now it is ready for use.
Place the object on the Weighing plate. Take care that
the object will not stripe anywhere at the housing or at
the base.
The balance shows the weight in grams in the display.
When the object should be heavier than the weighing
range of 1000g respectively 100g the symbol "EEEE" (=
overload) will appear in the display.
When the balance does not show "0" in the display after
having removed the too heavy object switch of the bal-
ance and turn it on again by pressing the OFF-
respectively the ON-key.
Important Information
These electronic balances are precision instruments. Avoid disturbing environmental conditions such as currents,
vibrations, strong electrical and magnetic fields as well as a rapid change of the ambient temperature. If necessary
readjust the balance after a change of temperature.
Avoid high humidity, vapours and dust as the balance is not hermetically closed. Do not let the balance come into
direct contact with liquids as these could enter the measuring cell. Therefore only clean the balance with a dry or
damp cloth. Do not use solvents as varnished or plastic parts could be damaged.
Place the object carefully on the weighing pan. Avoid any constant load on the weighing pan even when out of use.
Avoid shocks, thrusts and extreme impairments by all means. Remove spillage immediately.
When the programme cycle is disturbed switch the balance off and then on again. Start the weighing operation again.
Never use the balance in rooms where there is a danger of explosion. The serial version is not explosion-proof.
The balance should at least be adjusted daily with an adjusting weight.
Opening of the balance causes invalidity of warranty.

In case of different error messages switch the balance off and then on again. If the error remains, contact your
Dealer KERN.

Taring
Switch on the balance by pressing the ON-key and wait
for "0" indication.
Place the tare cup on the Weighing plate and press the
ON-key again. Indication will go to "0". Now the weight of
the tare cup is memorised internally.
Fill the object into the tare cup, read the measuring
value.
By pressing the ON-key after termination of the weighing
operation "0" will appear in the display again.
The taring procedure can be repeated continuously, for
instance when mixing several components.
The limit is reached when the full weighing range of
1000g respectively 100g is used.
