Operation

Heating phase (1)
The solid fuel boiler starts and the circulation pump should start pretty soon thereafter. A thermostat that
detects smoke or flue warming works the fastest. During the heating phase, the water circulates from the
top of the boiler to the bottom and at the same time the boiler temperature rises in a controlled manner.
Loading phase (2)
The internal thermostat of the loading unit is located at the mixing point of hot water from the top of the
boiler and cool water from the lower part of the storage tank. This way, boiler power and the temperature
of the storage tank continuously regulate the thermostat's open position. At the beginning of the loading
process, the thermostat opens only slightly so that the return water to the boiler can be kept sufficiently
hot. A corresponding amount of water taken from the bottom of the storage tank is replaced with hot
water entering the top of the tank. This causes the storage tank to be subjected to strong thermal
gradient, whereby hot water at the top of the tank is available for use as soon as possible after the start of
combustion. The most common thermostat opening temperature is 72 ° C. This means that with a 25 kW
boiler the overall boiler temperature is 78 ° C and the boiler return water is 68 ° C. With a boiler capacity
of 50 kW, the overall boiler temperature is 80 ° C and boiler return water is 60 ° C.
