- next to or near stoves, airconditioning, fans, windows or other objects that can affect the air current.
- on places that are difficult to reach for cleaning, maintaining, testing... the smoke alarm.
- on very dusty or filthy places. Dust and filth can affect the operation or obstruct the smoke detection.
- on places with a lot of insects. They can obstruct the operation of the smoke alarm and generate undesired alarms.
Never place the smoke alarm in the same circuit as dimmers and fluorescent lamps. Keep an internal distance of min. 1m between the cabling.
3.2. Positioning
On even ceilings
Because hot smoke rises and spreads, preferably install the smoke alarm centrally on the ceiling. Never install the smoke alarm on side walls or in corners.
Install the smoke alarm at a distance of min. 30cm from side walls.
On slanting ceilings
Install the smoke alarm at a distance of 1m from the peak.

3.3 Installation
The required fixing material is supplied together with the smoke alarm.
1) Choose a position that complies to the conditions described in 3.1. and 3.2.
2) Cut off the power of the group you wish to connect the smoke alarm to.
3) Remove the mounting cap of the smoke alarm by unscrewing it.
4) Burst the foil at the bottom of the smoke alarm where you wish to insert the cables and screws. See the provided openings (fig.1).
5) a. Insert the power cables through the provided opening and connect them to L and N (fig. 1)
b. Optional: Insert the network cables through the opening and connect them to a and b. (fig. 1)
c. Optional: Insert the cables for the relay module through the opening.
6) Screw fix the smoke alarm to the ceiling. Use the mounting holes.
7) Place the mounting cap on the smoke alarm and screw fix it.
Optional: Connect the provided cables to the relay module.
8) Insert the supplied battery.
9) Place the finishing plate on the smoke alarm by turning it clockwise. The finishing plate only fits if the battery has been put in place.
10) To protect the smoke alarm against dust particles, it is provided with a foil. Remove this foil before taking the smoke alarm into use.
