Caster or Glide Replacement
1.
Position the chair on it's side on a clean soft surface.
2.
To remove casters: Pull outwards on the casters
while tapping the base with a plastic mallet.
To remove glides: Use pliers to grip the glide and
rotate it while pulling out.
3.
Insert the new casters or glides into the base and
tap them in with a plastic mallet.
Base Replacement
1.
Position the chair as shown. Remove all casters
or glides from the base as noted above.
2.
Remove the base by hitting the bottom of the
cylinder with a hammer while pulling forward on
the chair base. If the base is a 4-star base, remove
the shroud. Rock the shroud back and forth, by hand,
and pull it out. Set the shroud aside.
Note: Be careful not to hit the retaining clip or the
cylinder rod in the center of the cylinder, as this may
cause the cylinder to break apart.
3.
If the base is a 4-star base, install the shroud onto
the new base and tap it on with a mallet until it is fully
seated. Slide the new base onto the cylinder. Hit the
bottom of the base legs with a plastic mallet to seat
the base to the cylinder.
4.
Insert the casters or glides into the base and tap
them in with a plastic mallet.
5.
Flip the chair upright and sit in the seat several
times to make sure the base is properly seated on the
cylinder.

procedure identical for 4-star base chair,
except as noted.
