INSTALLATION

The press must be installed in a closed and sheltered room. Furthermore the minimum safety
distance of 600 mm from walls, columns and other machines must be observed.
All the parts of the machine have to be lit up in a sufficient and uniform way in order to assure
work, adjustment and maintenance and in order to avoid areas of shade, reflections and daz-
zling.
The lighting has to be realized in accordance with the regulations in force in the country where
the press is installed (to be observed by the installer of the lighting system).
The press must be fixed to a level floor with appropriate capacity (see press weight) and locked
with dowels diam. 12 mm. (Fischer FZA M12x40 or equivalent dowels).
CONNECTION OF THE ELECTRIC INSTALLATION
I ATTENTION
The following operations must be performed by qualified staff.
1) Before connecting the electric installation, check if:
the power supply system of the press is equipped with the protection devices provided by the

laws of the country where the press is installed.
the power supply line has the following cross section: press voltage 400V/50Hz three-phase: at
·
least 1.5 mm2.
the voltage oscillations are within the tolerance limits stated in the specifications.

2) Connect the cable with the terminals of the power pack switch of the press (fig 9).
The press has been preset by the manufacturer to work with 400V three-phase;
3) Ground the machine.
4) When the connection is finished, check that the direction of rotation of the motor corresponds
with the arrow.
I ATTENTION!
THE ROTATION OF THE POWER PACK IN THE WRONG DIRECTION FOR A LONG TIME MAY
SERIOUSLY DAMAGE THE PUMP.
5) Check the oil level using the relevant dipstick; to fill up, use hydraulic oil AGIP OSO 46 - or
ESSO NUTO 46 or an equivalent oil.
6) Slightly grease the pins of the winch (only for model PRM50).
7) Spread a light film of oil on the support pins of the work bench of the press.
SAFETY
THE OPERATOR MUST COMPLY WITH THE ACCIDENT PREVENTION LAWS AND
REGULATIONS OF THE COUNTRY WHERE THE PRESS IS INSTALLED.
Do not use the press for other operations than the ones for which it has been designed.
Do not work close to the pieces when the ram is moving or under pressure.
DANGER OF SQUASHING!
Do not remove the mechanical, hydraulic and electric safety guards.
